I am giving serious consideration, primarily due to maintenance costs, to getting rid of my '98 2.8 Quatro A4 and getting a '04 TSX. Can you folks offer some advice, experience or other comments on my situation? Can anyone compare the cars? I will miss the all wheel drive. What options are good on the TSX? I like the 6 speed option. Thanks in advance....

 

Options? OPTIONS?! We don't need no stinkin' options.

But seriously, the TSX has very few options. 5 speed automatic or 6 speed manual and the option of a navigation system. I don't think you could go wrong with either transmission. I chose the automatic because of the type of driving I do (and the wife can't drive a stick). Practically everyone will tell you that the 6 speed is SWEEEEEEEET. My old Integra had a very good manual tranny and Acura/Honda is known for their wonderful manual transmissions. As for the NAVI system, I couldn't justify the $2K cost but if you search this board you'll probably find that a lot of people like it. Reviewers generally rank it as one of the best among Navi systems. I've never driven an Audi but I can tell you that I am VERY happy with my TSX. Hope this helps you with your decision.

 

i had an 2001 Audi S4 previously and thought it was a pretty sick car...until the engine blew up. i'm very happy with the TSX now.

 

It's probably your best car buying decision going to TSX, a 6 yr old Audi will definately give you big time maintenance nightmare, everything in the TSX is standard except for the navi, IMO it's the best navi out there right now.

Drive it before...It's a different car... Different feel... None is better, just different.

 

A friend of mine who used to work at Audi used to say,"always lease your Audi, you don't want to own one out of warranty!"
