Taking out the carpet around 3rd brake light

I got a 12" sub a while ago and i'm bumping everywhere. everything's good except i can't get rid of this rattle coming from near 3rd brake light! I tried to take out the carpet to see what's making the rattle but i'm afraid i will mess up w/o proper diy. can anyone tell me how to take the carpet out properly?

i had the same problem too what i did was wedge a piece of cardboard between the 3rd break light and the window. it solved the problem but unless you have a spoiler with a 3rd break light i dunno if you should try it or not

hm i just took apart everything, you just have to be careful with the side airbags..

so i took lots of cotton and just stick it into what was making the noise. apparently it's the seat belt assembly that's making the noise and i put bunch of cottons in there. also the edge of the roof were making noises so i put cottons in there too.

rattle is still there but i think i tried my best, i won't touch anymore

maybe i should try putting the cardboard in between but i want to have a clean look..

there are specific car audio products that would work much better than cotton and cardboard.

here is one company that makes products for this

I've taken my third brakelight completely out and it still rattles. my only suggestion is to dynamat the underside of the decklid or between the carpet and the decklid.

^ did it get rid of the rattle ?

I am satisfied with my car for now because i put so much effort into it to get rid of rattle. I figured it's the best i can do w/o spending any more money. it still rattles but new passengers won't notice it. but it's all over my head so.. fak
