I'd rather drive an Acura than push a Chevy...

I have a lot of rattles on my TSX also. Both front doors rattle, both front seatbelts rattle around the ear, and just recently the steering wheel is making an annoying clicking noise...it's not the keys. But, regardless I still love my car. I will get it looked at, however, because it's pretty annoying.

Also, it's stupid to hate on someone just because they're complaining about the TSX...it's not perfect. Rattles are annoying and if it can be fixed then let it get fixed. That's what warranties are for. And, you can't always drive with the radio on high and no matter what, the rattles will still be there...as in mines it's progressively getting worse and I only have 5000 miles on it.

To the original poster, I hope you get your issue resolved. But, just remember the next car could have the same problems.

I noticed that most of my rattles happen when the temp is lower than 55 degrees F. Does anyone have similar experiences?

The dash/windshield rattle happens almost exclusively in dry weather and moderately cold temperatures. I have noticed that it seems to happen in a wider range for me than it does for many other people, but I also live/drive in a much drier climate than most of you, which may explain it. I tend to find that rattle happens between about 35 and 65 degrees, for the most part.

Not in California. When you sign the paperwork, at the bottom in red letters is a blurb that says there is no "cooling off" period. So unless the company or dealer has some sort of return policy, once you sign the paperwork, theres no going back.

I live in one of the dryest climates available in the US (4500-5000 ft MSL in the desert), and I have yet to hear rattles. I just got back from getting an oil change and mentioned it to my service manager if he had numerous TSX owners complaining about rattles. He said they have yet to have someone bring in the TSX for that reason, so I would say the dry climate theory is not exact.

My impression is that it requires two things:

1) Dry
2) Cool

Driving from LA to SLC last week, I encountered it regularly between about 65 and 35. Others (mostly on the east coast) report it as happenning between 40 and 60. We all agree that it never happens in the rain, and I find it much less noticable when the fog comes in as well.

I'm just curious as to how many people with rattles own a first year build. I've been told numerous times by my parents and their friends to stay away from first year builds.

None of us have a "first year build" for this body type. This vehicle existed in Europe and Asia for more than a year before we got our version. That's one of the reasons I find this odd. I would have thought they would have worked out these problems overseas before bringing the car to the US under a luxury marque.

In this case, the rattles are also in the second year build.

Update on rattle issue

So I took my TSX (5AT /Navi) in today.

The problem: rattle/vibrations coming from the center console area during complete stops while gear is in D, D3 or +/- (take your pick).

Last visit a few weeks ago: they replaced parts on both the steering column and beneath gear shifter. Can't recall the exact parts that were indicated on receipt.

Result: Reduced rattles but still could hear it from mainly the center console/Navi screen area.

Today's visit: I was told they adjusted a 'loose' wire in the center console area, a process that took about a few hours.

Result: I drove it for a few miles this evening and no rattles.

Let's hope it stays that way. for my Acura service department.

Why won't this myth die - the Euro Accord came out March 03, maybe a month before the TSX.
