stumped about buying used TSX
Hi guys -
I'm finding myself in a funk about buying a used tsx. I found a manual 2004 model that we like at a dealer lot. It's red and has me second guessing the color. I actually made an offer today but too low and ended up walking out. I'm pretty sure that they will take 28,200 for the car with 40K kilos (canada $$ and miles).
I really like the 2006 models and colors however and started wondering if we should just get a new one. I can afford it but know it's crazy to buy new.....a 2006 model is about 36.5K plus 1000 pdi.... perhaps I can trim some off of that.
Any advice? are the 2006 models that much better to warrent the large depreciation?
It would be nice to get the exact color ect... that we want.
Finding used manuals is a little tough and they seem expensive.

If the money is not THAT big of an issue, I would definately try to get a new TSX. After test driving the 2006 MT (I currently have a 2004 MT) I can say I do like the changes in engine power. Also the little add ons are nice as well.
Just remember to get Navigation!! That was my biggest mistake, and i'm sure a lot of board members would agree with me when I say Acura Navi systems are top of the line and I regret not spending the extra $$$ to get one in my car.

I bought a used '04 so I know what you're talking about. They are kind of expensive, so if you can afford it, I'd get a new one. I was just trying to save a few bucks for a down payment on a house (still working on that, gonna be a while). I don't have navi either, and it doesn't bother me. It's a nice feature to have though, if you can spring the $$. Good luck with your decision.

CAN$8,300 difference?
I think it's almost worth it to get new. that's non-navi vs non-navi right?
it's on the border. on one hand, how long will you keep the car? on the other, the new style will come out in 2008 (i think) and will probably add a few dollars of depreciation, in which case, you're better off with the 2004 model, as you'll take less of a % loss.
but again, all depends on how long you'll keep the car. $8,300 translates to a significant increase in monthly payments, it's a very tough choice in my opinion, and really depends on what you're planning on to do with the car in the long run.
2006 has bluetooth, which was a major selling point for me. memory seats is nice for me, as we have two people using the car, one short, one tall.
it's a tough choice.

I'd really like to have my choice in colors and I'll be paying cash (no payments).
I think I'm gonna jump on the 2004 red one.....
