Stripes & Decals

OK, I know there are few of you out there who'd track & kill TSX-owner for doing this:

But I'm "toying" with the idea of putting "subtle" color stripe on the car...nothing loud...maybe on the
a dash of red on the OEM side skirts or something.....

Anyone know of any pics of TSX with stripes ?

Ok, I'm just know I'm going to get lambasted for this, but could someone please explain to me what exactly his so horrible about wanting your car to look unique and your own without basically swapping out the engine, drivetrain, and exhaust? I guess I'm just new to that whole scene so it doesn't make sense to me, but I don't see the point in tearing someone apart for wanting their car to look different without doing engine/drivetrain/exhaust work to it...

I'll take the time to explain if you can first explain me what would the point be in wanting to be a wannabe.

haha, just do the stripe, and people can judge you afterwards. that's what the internet is for. I'm not going to call something rice till I actually see it.

I was thinking something along the line of this, less the lettering on the sides:

something tiny & VERY subtle.

This is CRAZY:

Now...why is it OK for Mini Coopers I wonder....?

if your car is weird to start with then its ok.

And I would have to say Prodrive's TSX rivals Dazz's for being the ugliest TSX in existence. I wouldn't model my inspirations after those 2. But someday someone is going to have decals, so might as well be you.

We're not tearing. We're simply offering opinions.

God help us, someone already did:

Not sure what deal with the light next to the "Actify"decal is. It looks kinda...fake.

What the hell are those two holes where the liscence plate should be, btw? Does it make the TSX go supa fast?

Note the ginormous wing.

The two "things" are .... SINK DRAINS!

Seriously. They are sink drains that are usually purchased in the plumbing section of Home Depot or Lowes.

On cars with ductwork for cold air intakes fabricated for the front brakes, they give a more "finished" appearance. They can be painted matte black to match the grillwork, or, well, they can be left chromed! (Or, they are even available gold-plated!)

WTF they're doing in the TSX's license plate cove I haven't a clue. Is this car possibly set up for some bizarre Japanese race where they drive backwards????

I thought it was rigging for the gas conducts to a race fuel cell.

I believe those are fuel refilling ports, you see them often on race cars

Well, to be more specific, I meant to say that sometimes people aren't trying to be wannabes. For instance, say I just wanted my car to look unique and personalized to my taste, but made no false claims as to its performace? Would that still be considered "rice?"

whether its right or wrong, rice has become synonymous with bad taste. If you do something that's ugly, its considered rice... its just how people use it these days. So people will call a stripe/decal "rice." Whether its true "rice" or not... ugly is ugly.

So it's not just making your car look "tuned" when it's truly not.. it's being tacky about it?

It's your own perception of what is ugly or not. I go to plenty of shows where I think the cars look like shit (plenty of decals, underbody neons, gay spoilers), but they place 1st, maybe 2nd for their category. I like a car with a clean look, so I would say stay away from the decals.

IMO yes, :thumbsdn: tacky. Case in point, the ugly as sin Dazz Motorsports turbo'd TSX. Makes some insane horsepower, but I'd be ashamed of driving it. On the other hand, there is the Realtime Racing TSX. Lots of decals, custom paint job, even a wing... but its sex on wheels IMO (hmm... why is my car starting to look like it)

I'm sure others can disagree, but 2 ways of doing something, 1 good and 1 bad.

Please tell me you were being sarcastic about the Spoon Euro-R. It's one thing to be ignorant, its another to be a dumbass.

sleeper, who thinks stipes/designer decals would look pretty :ghey: (see previous post for further :ghey: reference).
