At a stop light yesterday and

there was another TSX beside me. I was fiddling around with the navi at the time, but I was curious how most people react in such a situation:

1) Look over and wave.
2) Look over and nod.
3) Look over and give thumbs up.
4) Roll down window and have a conversation.
5) Roll down window and get phone number.
6) Flash upper torso area.
7) Just mind your business.

I usually look and either wave, give thumbs up, or a peace sign. Hmmmm, this would make a good poll.

I always try to wave or give a thumbs up, but people usually ignore me. It's so sad. I should have gotten a VW Beetle... or maybe not.

I've had my TSX for 16 months now, and I usually wave or show the peace sign or something mellow like that. But I don't remember a single time when my fellow TSXer responded in any way. I guess I could try to be more aggressive in flagging them down but I'd feel

Although, I have yet to be side-by-side at a stoplight with someone in another TSX. I'm usually headed in the opposite direction when I see one.

Wow, came back from lunch and the thread became a poll. Cool!!!!

Thanks Dan.

And for those wondering who the flasher is .... it's me. I mistakenly chose 6 instead of 7. My bad.

Weird, here in NJ I see mostly women in their 30's. Once they hit 40, it's off to an Accord.

99% of car owners tend to see their vehicles in about the same way as they see their clothes. They aren't trying to join a club or a community with the people who choose the same brand and style. The only exceptions seem to be a few rarer "cultish" cars.

I used to exchange glances with other TT convertible owners when they were really new and weird. About six months into production that pretty much stopped.

That was GREAT!

She was already freaked out by 'R', and then here I come! The look on her face was one of "what the hell's going on?"

When I drove an Integra it was the most annoying assed thing ever. I swear that Integra owners try to race each other and because of that stereotype Civic, Prelude, Accord, blah blah blah... Eclipse modders try to race you at every freakin stop light. Freakin annoying as hell. Thats one thing I thought I wasn't going to miss about the Integra. Now I have a BMW 330Ci and the same god damned shit happens, now with BMWs joining the mix.

The TSX crowd seems alot more civilized from what I've seen.

I like that kind of attitude...heh. Sounds like something I would hear from John Nash (Russell Crowe from "A Beautiful Mind").

I don't understand the option for flashing your upper torso, I think that kind of activity would attract a different kind of TSX owner if you are a guy...

I usually don't make any formal acknowledgement of other TSX's on the road, even though I always notice that they're there. The only time I would do so is if it was obvious the other person truly cared that they were in one, usually having some sort of mod. Most of the time other people don't share my passion for cars and don't even know what an Acura is. I've heard "Nice car. What's that a Honda Acura?"

See! I told ya! Getting a Beetle was like joining a community. I had similar experiences with my Jetta IV, right after it came out. Other VW people would wave and nod. Now the only ones that look at me are people in old TLs and Integras. Ah! The envy...
