Does ANYONE have a guide/pictures/book on how to get started on removing the interior trim pieces (the wood or silver strip that goes from driver door through the dash to the passenger door)? I imagine it just takes prying at the right places but don't want to screw up my dash by experimenting.

Is there a Chilton's guide or something that would show how to do this?

Go get a Helm service manual. It has all the steps to remove trim pieces.
