Spoiler

Does anyone know if the TSX spoiler can be taken off?

Would there be holes on the trunk?

yes u can take it off and yes there will be holes

There are 4 holes roughly 4 inches away from one another, 2 on each side of the trunk. If you take it of, you'll have to get the holes filled and trunk repainted.

Do you currently have a spoiler and want to remove it?

Maybe you could arrange for a complete trunk lid transplant with someone who has a spoiler-less trunk. What color do you have?

BTW, these answers apply to the OEM TSX spoiler. People have put on lip spoilers with just adhesive. FWIW, a salesman showed me that the 04 TL lip spoiler is bolted on.

I was just wondering if it is possilbe to take it off. I saw one without the spoiler and the Body kit and I thought it looked really good.

I'm torn right now as to what looks better, with or without spoiler

I think the TSX looks much more sportier with the wing spoiler on. I will definitely leave it on if I were you since you have it on already! I think you will get more attention when you drive your TSX with the spoiler on!

No, there should be 5 holes on the trunk. 1 for the break light wire. And yes, I drill those holes myself. :P

I'd swap trunk lids with someone without the spoiler. IMHO, the TSX looks a little more distinctive w/o the spoiler, and the body kit for that matter. I finally have some pic's of mine, which has neither. I'll try to get someone to host them for me. I'd be interested in some opinions as it seems like alot of people prefer the body kit and spoiler.

Do you *have* a TSX right now (didn't see that mentioned)? If you're just thinking about *when* you get your TSX should you get a spoiler, then order it without....if you don't like the "plain jane" look, go back to the dealer and get one put on....

When I get mine, I think I will go for the spoiler since I like the look, and since I have issues with "guessing" where the rear end of a car is, a spoiler gives me a better idea (since it sits at the end of the rear, and it is visible above the bottom edge of the window).

Before I bought my TSX, I was debating on the spoiler also. I was still unsure when I was at the dealer. Anyway, I bought mine without a spoiler and I'm liking it everyday now. Rightnow, I don't even think about getting a spoiler. I'm just thinking if I should get the bodykit.

I have a PPW with spoiler

and I'm thinking of getting the OEM kit, but I don't want it to look like I've done too much to it

I think the car looks classier without the spoiler

I just installed spoiler and I drilled seven (7) holes. 3 8mm on left side for two studs and one screw form inside trunk under stop and 1 10mm for the wire harness/grommet while on the right three 8mm holes mirroring the left - except for harness.

I really like how the spoiler makes the TSX rear get much more of a "Stacked" appearance, but one thing that I didn't like was that you'll have both a spoiler light and a rear view window light. It'd be nice if they had the spoiler without the light, IMO

I think when they put the spoiler in, the light on the spoiler disables the light in the rear window (at least, this is what happens with my EL...and I've heard it to be true for other Hondas/Acuras). An added advantage is that you can then tint the whole back window, if you so desire, without leaving a cutout for the light.
