sounds like a tire size change would solve the problem because if the speed is off that much at 60 it would only take a small different in tire size to change that. maybe the tires are underinflated?
im sure there is a way in the ECU to correct it , perhaps when hondata comes out with an ECU mod they can address that as well

Sounds about right.
Although I bet if you had a magnifying glass you would have seen your speedometer was saying only 59.4, and the sign really meant 57.3.

I took my new handheld GPS with me in my car today, and set the speedo exactly on 70mph, and the GPS read a very consistent 69.0mph, +/- .1mph.
I trust that the GPS reading will be more accurate than anything except a timed course over a certain distance, including all radar.
For what it's worth...

i just got back from texas on a 1000 mile round trip. got to break in my TSX along the way.
anyway i called a friend on his cellphona that was driving next to me in his 02 accord. we matched each others speed at exactly 60 MPH in both cars. side by side. that means mine and his car would have to be off to be reading the same speed, not likely in my book. later on the trip i passed a this is your speed sign that read exacty 31 MPH which was exactly what my Speedo said it was. so im convinced that the feeling of the speedo being inaccurate is all in your heads. i think because the ride is so smooth and refined that you dont realise how fast your going.
after 1000 miles im getting used to the speeds and they seem to be more accurate bu the seat of the pants analysys.

As I can tell this is an old post, just incase someone is still checking...I purchased an 06TSX brand new in july of 06. A short while later, I received a letter in the mail from Acura, as did my parents for their 06TL. A woman who had a Honda Odessy was suing because of the gap in the speedo and realistic number. Her claim was that her warantee ran up early because the speedo was off. For that reason Acura sent me a letter saying that my warranty was now something slightly longer in miles, not years, than was stated upon purchase. They chalked up the error to their manufacturer who they purchased their speedo's from and said they were working to fix the problem. I don't remember the letter, and am pretty sure I threw it away but I do remember that was the gist of it.
holy thread resurrection batman!
erm, if its of any interest, i tested my speedo with a simple gps navi (mio). gps speed indicated exact speed on my speedo FWIW... i put the car on cruise and gps has about a 1 second lag but did register the same speed...

Holy thread revival is right, 5 years!
While driving I've gone into the diagnosic screens in the navi and on the GPS information screen, the one with the detailed data from the satellites, it will show your calculated MPH speed(along with heading in degrees, GMT time, etc), updated every second. Mine is spot on, dead accurate with my speedometer. Of course it better be when the car isn't even 6 months old yet!
