Kind of late, but I've been running my car as you see in the pictures below for a while, I wonder if that piece that is not connected suppose to be connected between my intake and the engine. I know it acts as some coolant and the top part is some air cooling?

Usually I have those connected (Picture 1) But I took it off (Picture 4).
Am I suppose to somehow connect that piece between the two, and how? It won't bend that way for it to be connected.
