I'm not sure if that's a good idea if you're gonna be driving around windy roads, but then again I've never tried it...

We'll have none of that at the meet. What you choose to do on your own time is none of my business.

The meet will probably be after lunch so around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. This way, people can enjoy the beach afterwards if they choose. Or we could move it to later and then go for dinner as a group.

Let's hear some suggestions for times that would be best for people. I'm free all day so I'll be able to coordinate the whole thing and we'll try to accomodate as many people as we can.

Wah! So do I. I live there!

Morning sucks because I won't be waking up at 8AM on a Saturday or Sunday to make it to Redondo by 10. That's too early. (That was my Wah!)

Let's keep it around 1-2 PM. Maybe 12 at the earliest.

How long is it gonna take you folks from San Diego to get up to the RB area? Should be about 2 hours drive, right?

From Oceanside it will be about 1:45-2:30 depending on Orange County traffic and whether we take the toll road or not.

Edit: Yahoo! estimates 1:27 so since they calculate at a steady 65 MPH I'd give it 1:45-2:00 with Saturday or Sunday traffic.

Yahoo recommends the toll road. You'll need $3.00 if you don't have a Fastrak transponder. The toll is $2.50 with transponder. If you take the toll road home it will be another $3.00/$2.50. See The Toll Roads CA 73 Toll Schedule .

Hmm...okay...so with some possible traffic, let's say 2 hours to be safe.

Would people be okay with 2:30PM on June 27th?

kaikai, we'll be there for a while so if you can't make it early, I'm sure at least a few of us will stick around to enjoy the beach on a nice Sunday afternoon. If you can, come out and drop by if after your other thing.

I wanna take this opp. to thank all the people who gave me REP Points... Thanks and I look forward to meeting all of you at the meet. I also like the idea of having a collective dinner or even a lunch meet and head out to the beach. That is what I like about you guys compared to the A_CL board. It was like pullin teeth to get them guys to meet. Thanks for being so cool.

Actually, this meet has been in the making for a while. It took us a while to get organized.

And yeah, I think a group dinner for those interested would be a good idea. It'll be nice to talk to people in person that I see every day here.

late afternoon , also we tsxers should have a big turn out not just 20 people or so look at those other car clubs (miata meets , corvette meet , etc. ) they come out in thousands. we have 8k members and i know not everyone is from so. cali. but alot are where are you guys. if we dont get alot of people to show up this time then i think we should start to plan a future meet with a lot of notice time to give the people no excuses. thats just my say.

I agree, though the problem with most members is that they just sign up once to ask a question and then never come back. I think that once we get decals for the car, we'll likely be able to identify more people as we drive around.

I would love to see a huge turnout for the meet on June 27th. If anyone knows another TSX owner who isn't a member of the board, encourage them to attend the meet. We always welcome some more people

What is a car care clinic?

I'll have more info on the drive up once they decide what time, etc. the meet starts. I have a few ideas for some places in Oside.

There is a reason why so many of them are posting here from work.

Oh, and I will be sending out the info about the meet tomorrow afternoon so if anyone has any comments about time preference, lemme know soon.

Its when you buy a new car and they have this thing at the dealership so you can meet everyone at service sales and all the other offices. And I got free stuff.

Lets meet up in HB after lunch and hang out on the beach or something and then go out for a group dinner. As for steve, my wife and I can drive and meet up with you, and who ever else is going.

Like slo said, the meet is in Redondo Beach, not Huntington Beach.

Yeah...I like the group dinner idea. I was figuring we'd all meet around about 2:30 PM on June 27th. Once everyone arrives, we'll get together for some group pics and then we can do individual pics for each member (or couple) with their car. Then, we head out for a drive around some nice twisty roads around Palos Verdes and end up right near the beach. We can hang out on the beach for a while (maybe help slo put together that sand replica of a TSX ) and then get together for a group dinner.

How's that sound?

When I send out information tomorrow, I'll include a list of restaurants in Redondo Beach and the surrounding areas that would be good for dinner.

Anyone trying to find the meet with your Navi: The location is not in Redondo Beach but in Rancho Palos Verdes. Trying to enter that intersection with Redondo Beach returns something not found. According to MapQuest it is in Rancho Palos Verdes CA 90275.

Just a heads up. I spent some minutes trying to find this intersection before I got lucky.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:14 PM.
