In the "best" conditions, my car could do 10 seconds.

The conditions being:
- over 45 degrees downhill slope
- 30 degrees F outside

Im sure a stock 06+ 6mt could hit that with a decent driver. Still its hardly a drag-racers dream car. Straight line acceleration is adequate but not breathtaking.

hey you can do 15 in the quarter mile if you remove the spare tire, the trunk lining, and the rest of the interior. hurray. if you wanted a fast car then you bought the wrong one.

I removed my back seat to find some quarters and save money on my car insurance for up to 15% or more.

It's so easy a caveman can do it.

I'm guessing a 15.5 wouldn't be attainable on the stock Michelins? I can't get traction on a launch with my AT, it must be hell for a MT.

I've only actually done a hard launch once since I've owned my car. I decided right then and there I wouldn't bother doing it again until I got a decent tire.

Keep in mind that when magazines do their tests, they're using stock tires. I'm sure better tires will give more traction. These tires spin way too easily.

When is the last time anyone here

did an illegal street race? a sanctioned event? as long as the car gets out of its own way, I think it is a mute point. We are not exactly talking Geo Metro or Aveo here...

Absolutely , but with better rubber. Those OEM Michelins just can't get enough grip. Even in the summer, I break traction in 1st and 2nd, and the VSA kicks in... NEED BETTER RUBBER !!!

Yeah, I agree...as I've started becoming more aggressive with my car, it breaks loose quite often. Sometimes I look around to see if any cops are around since it could be stated that it's a sign of excessive speed. It breaks loose on the 1-2 shift under only moderate acceleration and off the line at a stop light. I can only imagine how much worse it would be if I actually raced my car

As for the 1/4 mile time, it sounds close. I don't know about the late-model accords, but the accords from a couple of years ago were doing slightly quicker than 16 seconds.

The (consumer's) TSX isn't a racing car (if you exclude the race-inspired suspension). If you're doing an engine swap, turbo/supercharge, NOS....then that's when you can mind the time

My only experience w/ the OEM michelins were on the test drive -- used car. They were probably under the legal 2mm tread limit... and broke traction in 3rd. That's when I said "So... newer, better tires will obviously be installed, right?". Salesman agreed fully.

I have about 21K on my TSX now, and the stock tires only get worse as they wear, IMO. Taking into account that I know the car better now and can drive it more aggressively, the tires are starting to get a kind of greasy feeling in hard turns. They're a lot noisier too.

I think it may be time for an upgrade. I want to see what good tires will do for all the suspension mods I've made.

As far as 1/4 mile times go for the TSX, I couldn't care less. This car is all about handling. Acceleration is fine.

Do you have any idea what tires you are going to get? I have about 1300 miles on my car now and I've had enough of these tires. Over certain road surfaces, the rock-hard tread is way too loud and there is no performance in them.

I'm over at tirerack about to click purchase on the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS. The only negative reviews this tire gets are people who have to drive them in the snow.

Yeah, I think I'm going with the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S. They're ultra high perf all-seasons. I debated going full summer tire, but I don't think that'll work too well here.

Fedlawman, a former TSX owner and a member here, got these for his '88 M3, and says they're excellent. They also get good reviews at Tirerack. They are also reasonably priced compared to their Michelin counterparts. I trust fedlaws judgement, as he's knowledgeable about cars and performance driving.

I'll post a review of them once I get them, sometime after I get my tax refund.

My friend's 2008 Bone Stock Acura TSX 6spd did a 15 second flat 1/4 mile. I saw a Bone Stock TSX 6spd some where that can do 14.9. Found online with pictures of engine and time proof. Every car is different even if its the same car. For the people that say TSX isn't a race car. Then why does the TSX have racing history? It was actually used in tournaments to represent Honda, same with the RSX-S. People call the G35 a race car, but then why don't the G35 have racing history? Nissan never used it in a race. Barely anyone knows about this, but please look up stuff on the TSX before calling it something.

There are different type of races. OP was talking about 1/4 which is a straight line drag race... something the TSX was not built to do.

True, the TSX was never made a drag car. It was made into a touring car. Same with the 350Z, it was made as a touring, not as a drag, but people still drag with it. If you want good drag times buy a Mustang or something along that line =)
