SNHOND3 Install
SNHOND3 Install
I posted this in the audio&video thread a few days ago but it seems kinda dead there so I'll try my luck here =) I've searched this forum and some other threads around the net but can't seem to find an answer.
I want to install the SNHOND3 aux input mod on my 2004 TSX (No Nav). I want the aux port to ultimately terminate inside either one of the center console trays (the ones above the red thing). In order to do this, will I need to drill a hole in the backs of these trays or is there already some sort of space I can squeeze the wires through?
I would open it up and look for myself but I am not picking up my car for another week or so.
Thanks!

i drilled a small hole in the center console and then ran the wires up behind the "not an ashtray" and thats where i stored the unit itself. There is no hole already made that i know of. What are you hooking up to the SNHOND3?
Though I have a 07 TSX w/ factory aux port, i previously had a 2004 honda accord with aftermarket aux ipod connector. I followed great illustrated directions from the link: http://www.distantcreations.com/accordipod/ The accord has an identical center console (and many interior parts on that note).
It tells you to snake the cord through the middle inside beside the shifter console and through the cigarette lighter outlet inside the console using an extended wire hanger. I leased the old car so I unscrewed the cigarette lighter plastic cover (inside center console), passed the cord through with enough slack, then re-screwed it back down, with the cord slightly squeezed between the seams. This lets you have a reversible setup that works great and lets you run the ipod out of the center console or stored inside when not in use. Drilled Holes not necessary esp since entry is out of sight! Full picks of setup are in the link above.

whoa that's pretty cool! however, i'm gonna have my treo mounted in front of me on the dash for GPS so it won't make as much sense for me to run it to the center console.
I'm not the most handy guy, so I'm not sure about the details of drilling the hole. I mean obviously u get a power drill and a drill bit, but what other precautions should one take to prevent scratching and get a clean hole. Also what's a rubber gromet?
and thx for the help fellas!

There is a video online at http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=0 that might give you some ideas.
There's already a hole in the center "cd holder" console, all the way in the back, on the top. There's some piece of plastic covering the hole, but you can just pull that out and run the aux through that.
