sigh i've done it, scratched my bumper -_-"

i was parking my car, made a left turn, half way in the slot i heard the noise...i thought to myself , fxxx now i've finally done it. the white paint was gone, its like 8 inches long even tho its not that noticable (can't really see it from the top, but if you bend them and look closely you can see the damage i guess i hve to bring it to dealer to see how much its gonna cost me, i doubt the touch up pen can do the trick either

i'm like....so depressed right now...its like a part of me has died its only been 4 months since i got the car...could have been less damaging if i didn't lower my car

Dang, I know how you feel. There's a gash across my passenger side that will NOT come off. Some arsehat took his backpack and just dragged it across my car.

Did you stop for the other car? o_o

stop for the other car? i don't understand, its at a parking lot in a mall that's where it happened, i was trying to park at the futhest right (scratched the right side) so there's an island thingy to my right or however you called that thing, i bumped into it and scratched the car, i thought i had enough space to turn but i guess not sigh.....

if it makes you feel any better, i ran over those islands while reversing out of a parking spot. both rear wheels went up, over, and onto the other end of the island...

^^^ x2. I know how you feel man. Your first scratch is always traumatic. And this is coming from a person w/ OCD when it comes town to my car. Soon enough you will come to accept that the inevitable will always happen, you just have to take extra precautions whenever you can. Hope your scratch is able to come off.

Sucks doesn't it. I just did a number on my front end too. I gave it some nice rash on the front left on the bottom corner, while I grazed the island in our parking garage. I have to learn that some driving maneuvers just aren't going to be tolerated by a lowered car.

I was backing out of a driveway where the soil had sunk, so my left muffler tip hit the road. The section of the road that I hit broke into smaller pieces, while my muffler tip is now stuck and the pipe itself is bent into a slight S shape. Will need a new muffler to fix it. Plus, the left underside of my rear bumper is scraped.... Already applied touchup paint.

is the touchup at least doing something? i know it won't make it perfect but does it actually help because i am planning to go get it.

thanks

Well, at least the touchup paint keeps the existing paint from peeling... That's why I use it. If you use the touchup paint on a visible panel, you will definitely see and notice it, at least on my arctic blue pearl....

sorry to bring this backup, but just wanted to update you guys (if anyone cares) i asked the same body shop where i lowered my car, he said it would cost 100 bucks to repaint just that part, since its at the lower portion of the bumper, even if there's color differences it shouldn't be too noticable. And also, i'm planning to paint the two black plastic covers (originally where the fog lights were in the 04 05) to body color it looks nicer and that's what the JDM accord has so all together comes to $150CAD not bad huh?

at least i'm not that upset now, now that i found out how much i could fix it

herse some advice:

good excuse to get a kit?

or

use the touchup paint and detail solution.
1. clean off area
2. build up touch up paint, one layer at a time, wait at least 1-3 hours between coats, the longer the better. until it is taller than ur regular paint.
3. put 2 layers of clear at the end if u want
4. get 3000 unigrit meguires sandpaper and soak in soapy water for 24 hours.
5. get a small block or a new pencil with clean eraser.
6. either, take the sandpaper and put up to the block or punch out with hole puncher and put atop pencil eraser.
7. slowly go in one direction of the touchup paint until it is level with the bumper paint
8. Now you'll have to learn how to polish a car. try autopia.org, theres tons of good info on how to use machines, or even ur own hand power to buff it out. You'll nned better prodcust than the OTC stuff to get it out, but it can be done.

I got my 07 delivered with a nice hole in the middle of the front bumper, the car was prepared for Ontario market, and ended up here in Quebec where we don't use front licence plate. Dealer said they won't do a thing since I got the front licence plate rack removed. This sucks.

8"s long?!

damn.

i already had one small nick in my bumper only a few days after i got mine. not sure where it came from. i have 2 other major ones. one from a shovel handle falling onto the car (so stupid), and then 2 bigger scratches in my sideskirt and lower front-left bumper.

i just got a touch-up pen from ebay that has the paint and clear coat. hoping to at least mask it a little.

but then there are ton of swirl marks. some deeper than others. once it gets warmer, i'm going to try and polish them out.
