They probably listen to some cd's on your system and collect $6.99 from you.

When I saw that my reaction was less polite, it was: "WTF is Service Sound System???"

$64.95 seems a little steep for little more than an oil change. Do they also provide you with a geisha?

Smile Not Bad

Besides the "Service Sound System" BS fee this doesn't seem that bad. I drive about 10-12K a year and the thought of going to the dealer only once a year is VERY appealing. With my 98 Accord (a typical troublefree Honda) I have to go 2-3 times and work in an annual inspection. One visit coninciding with an inspection saves me time and $$$.

Yeah im going to have to say no on the sound system service, but think of it this way even with replacing the air filtration thing and all their other various stuff it only works out to around 12 bucks a month for maintence at dealer prices which isnt horrible.

The pollen filter element lists for $55.80.

If the $73.74 charge includes the part(!) it might not be such a bad deal. (If you've ever changed one of these filters on a Honda, you know what I'm talking about! They must have designed the filter and then designed the rest of the car around it.)

Satanic Honda engineer in charge of making you ask: "What were they THINKING??? WTF made them DO that????" ---->

10k miles is standard duty. Extreme duty is half that. 2500 miles is probably being a little to conservative. 3500-4000 should be more than adaquite.

yeah, changing at every 2500 is a bit of a waste. even if you drive aggresively... esp when using mobile 1. i'd do it just under 5000 miles.

just outta curiousity, that 34.99 for oil change is conventional oil, right? don't most oil change shops do it for around 25? 35 sounds a bit much, considering i just changed oil on denali, a 6 liter v8, for 31.

I seem to remember someone talking about a "15k mile service." I don't see anything like it on the schedule. Has anyone else heard anything about it?(i'm at about 14.5k )

15k is listed only under the severe duty schedule. It includes:
oil & filter
replace air cleaner
replace dust and pollen filter

i'm definitely on the severe schedule. Just an oil change and tire rotation for me then! I think it might be time to switch it up to mobile 1.

Thanks for providing your service cost. Went to my dealer in NJ. For 10k, they wanted 125! Talk about sticker shock. Their list had two more items, inspect brakes and check belts

$34.99 Sounds a tad expensive for an oil change, especially considering we pay less in Canada. Or is that synthetic?

Our are $27ish CAD.

The oil change is a little high however it is Chicago. Here we get one for under $30 and you get your car washed a vac. Not too bad.

Our Oil Changes at $26.95 (I think, although I may be off a buck or two) come with a wash too.

No Vac or BJ though. And I always opt out of the wash. They do a shitty job and probly scratch the paint.

I haven't seen anyone at my Acura service department that I would like to get a BJ from so I would probably opt out of that option.

$74 for the dust and pollen filter is a joke.

You guys ever taken yours out? I usually give it a blast with the air compressor when I change my oil.

It's seriously cheaper looking than the air filter on the engine. Why is it like 4x the cost?!
