Saw an IS300 stuck in the snow today

Pointed uphill, in the middle of the road, four-way flashers on, and on the cell phone (with a frustrated look on his face).

Yeah, I saw a BMW and a MB struggling in the snow recently too!

After all, that's exactly why I did NOT buy a RWD car for my climate!!!

I predict that gilbo will appear and tell us how he saw a FWD car up against a barrier on an exit ramp.

If I was in a TSX, I'd be laughing at those suckers (IS300, C-class, 3 (325)) that spent so much for so little more (IMHO), so it'd only be fair!

Keep in mind that the IS300 comes with a dealer installed option of summer-only tires. These things SUCK in the winter worse than all-seasons (like driving on hockey pucks).

christ I don't think theres anything that wasnt off the side of the road today.

the police were calling the radio stations to have them let people now that they weren't going to accidents that didn't involve injuries or road blockages.

as yes, winter driving

give them a bone, its the only time they can feel good. because for those days without snow, the ppl in the IS, C-class and 3 series have a lot more enjoyable and fun drive, not to mention a balanced car with great ride that won't rattle over a bump and plow into corners b/c the front wheels get overwhelmed.

now if only acura/honda would offer 4wd on their cars. i like my Tsx, but i would never boast or laugh at rwd cars cause they'd seriously kick our *ss in dry weather any day. i'd still take the 350Z, G35 coupe, or BMW M3 over the Tsx anyday, but it's the issue with the car payments and climate I'm living in.

I'm probably going to sound like Larch... :-)

I wouldn't buy those cars over the TSX - money isn't the issue for me. Now, if someone GAVE me one of those cars, sure, I'd keep it. I don't race cars, I live downtown Seattle, and I notice no real difference between RWD and FWD in my everyday driving conditions.

A friend of mine just put all-season tires on his IS300 and he's fine in the snow.

i wonder if Daewoo drivers laugh when they see a NSX spinned out in the snow and glad they drive a Daewoo instead of a NSX. I'm also sure the NSX driver would be kicking themselves for buying a NSX over a Daewoo:P (no offence to Daewoo drivers, they are fine cars for their price ..new ones for 5k cdn)

LOL, gilboman, the Daewoo driver WOULD laugh at the NSX driver because he was stupid enough to drive his high performance RWD supercar in the snow! :P

is it funny if a TSX gets stuck in the snow to any Subaru or G35X or BMW xi or MB 4matic or Audi quattro sedans?? or any RWD with snowtires that see an acura with allseasons spin out? but they probably laugh enough during the 330+ days or so when there's no snow and they enjoy a nicer drive.

I only laugh at 4wd SUVs that have plowed off of the road, unable to stop, not knowing that 4wd doesn't give them any better brakes

Maybe he thinks the Daewoo is his $200 "Winter Beater" on $400 snow tires and his NSX is home in his garage, parked next to his Harley, snug and dry under a car cover...

C/D Winter Beater Competition

(I'm at work but my TSX is home in my driveway under a blanket of snow today.)

I don't get it when people bash one sports car over another... I can see if you have a TSX (or any car that isn't stuck in the snow) and you pass some idiot in a 4WD car/truck stuck in the snow, that's funny.... but anything else just doesn't seem to matter. Apples and oranges.

I am sure your aware the whole reason for FWD cars is because it is cheaper to make and cars are more fuel efficent with this setup. `

I seen all sorts of cars/SUVs/trucks/bikes/crackheads stuck in the snow, never laughed. I've been stuck in the snow in a GS 400 and a Nissan Sentra. Both needed snow tires. I've driven safely in RWD cars and FWD cars in the snow.

Not that there's anything so bad about those things, but I absolutely DON'T agree that those are the only reasons that manufacturers choose to make FWD cars.
