Love the car overall. It's such a well integrated package. The size is perfect, it looks great with clean lines, it's a blast to drive when you push it, comfortable and civilized when you back off, packed with features.
Hate: DBW. I can live with it, but it's really the weakest part of the whole car. The first think I would have Honda/Acura fix.

The biggest impression I've been left with after driving it for a week is that it's too fun to drive. The suspension is perfect; tight enough feel the road, yet soft enough to not get fatgiued on a long drive, and not too soft or boatlike like a TL. There's hardly any body roll. It's quite amazing realy. Shifitng gears feels realy good and the precision of steering must have been inherited from the Integra. All the luxury amenities can be hard to apreciate when you're too busy apreciating how fun it is to simply turn your car in another direction.
But of those amenities I like XM radio the most, the comedy channel has increased my overall life satisfaction greatly, closely followed by the nav system which is very nifty.

excuse me for asking, but whats DBW?

The later TSX's have a powered passenger seat. I also apreciate the 06+ having the more detail rich info center between the tac and speedometer. Those were two improvements that don't get mentioned much.
The thing I dislike the most at the moment is the depth at which the throttle engages. I catch the clutch immediately but at which depth the gas ramps up is always a bit of a mystery. Maybe that's due to drive by wire. I'll get used to it eventualy.

Only one thing I don't like ... and I can't remember it. Not that important, apparently.
What I love ... a loooooong list. Such a refined car, but a tiger waiting to be uncaged. From my initial test drive notes (2 hour later first impression): Superb visibility, all controls right where needed and easy to use, damned easy to read dash, in all lighting conditions, lights out with remote locking, remote window lowering from remote, nice stereo (have since been a bit disappointed), ride was soft but nimble, driving position up and with good forward view, power driver seat allowed precise adjustment (and memorization) even in traffic, sunroof controls very clever (better than my old Sienna).
Since owning it a month (woo-hoo, 35 day anniversary), I've also come to appreciate the MID information center, though I usually turn off the MPG/range/blahblahblah display wihle driving as it's a distraction ... the HFL is really handy ... steering wheel controls are a lot more intuitive and comfortable than expected ... numerous trivial amenities and thoughtful touches that add up to being a totally pleasurable vehicle to operate. It's a sporty car, but it treats you like royalty. Are there really that many cars which don't compromise one for the sake of the other?

The negatives (now I remember):
- Body panels (particularly doors) seem light, flimsy
- bottom forward console (not an ashtray) door closes unevenly, I don't understand why (it continually makes me slam it shut)
- AUX audio input is in a place where the plug/jack can be bent by other armrest storage contents
- dash illumination knob is near impossible to reach, don't try it while driving
- No mute for hi-fi, only OFF
- side mirrors kind of jerk during some adjustments
- hi-fi isn't as "premium" sounding as the name implies
- HFL quality gets complaints from some callers
- high intensity headlights have a very sharp cutoff, noticeable when the nose bounces
- mileage could be better, the RSX gets outstanding MPG
i like everything for this car so far...........just got 41 mpg from driving 200 miles on Highway from State College to Philly!! i was really amazed!! not even half tank of gas...
maybe one thing i don't like.........it's the sound made by the transmission when u shift it to Drive on my auto.......it sort of make a "click" sound after i shift.
kinda annoys me

^ I don't experience this on my 2006 model. But I also don't get 41mpg ... yet. What was your trick ... driving 55mph (mileage drops a wee bit from 55 - 65 - 75) ... aggressive use of cruise control ... or you used actual fuel consumption/miles traveled versus the car's MID info?
I wish for just a little more grunt. I don't like when the gas pedal is mashed into the firewall and still wishing for more go. Worse yet is the dearth of power when going into 2nd from 1st under full-out throttle.
The on/off nature of the DBW with the MT makes 5 mph bumper-to-bumper traffic jerky - no way around it other than to ride the clutch.
Totally agree about the gauge illumination dial. Gotta bend and contort just to reach through the steering wheel to get to it. If there was a button next to the NAV which lets you toggle the NAV screen between bright/dim/off like the new MDX has, then this wouldn't be an issue for me.
Also agree about the cutoff of the headlights. When approaching a steep uphill on a dark road, you might as well be approaching a wall - absolutely nothing above the cutoff is visible.
I wish HFL would put a phone keypad onto the NAV's touchscreen. Sometimes voice commands are just too cumbersome, especially when trying to send tones.

See above.... My 2006's doors sound light and hollow. Now, I know that contributes to a pretty good acceleration curve. And I like that I can just sort of look at doors real hard and they close ... but I worry that a thoughtless guest passenger will ker-SLAM a door.
Not sure it's an Easter egg, but I read somewhere (Automobilemag review of 2004 model?) that the HFL will dial any phone numbers associated with stored "favorite" locations. Nice. That, and the full Channel/Category/Name/Title display of XM information now makes me sort of interested in getting an Acura nav system in my next vehicle.
I'd push your idea of a phone keypad up the Acura Product Marketing and Development organization like a red-hot poker. There might be safety concerns there (they might only enable if it in the car is in PARK, or 0 MPH/km), but it's a superb idea. Particularly for road warriors who need to sort through 6-12 voice mails with number-commands for save, delete, replay, get message details. Know whut'll mean, Vern?

I know its not strictly a TSX, but my 2006 UK Honda Accord Tourer is awesome. likes:
Power Tailgate
Voice Control System
Radar Cruise and Lane Keep Assist
Handling
Looks
Auto box is soooo smooth and the tiptronic mode is even more fun.
Seems you guys over the pond are getting a raw deal on the paint, my friend has a 3 yr old (TSX) and its fine, nothing to complain about on mine either. Our are built here though so not sure if that changes anything.

Two things I wish Acura would improve:
1) The "Premium" sound system, which definitely IS NOT.
2) The garage door opener buttons on the overhead console should be lighted. They are just too hard to find by touch in the dark.

ive been reading so much between the TL and the TSX forum that i dont know which car i want. Still havent had time to test drive a used tsx but have driven like 5 or more TLs now. decisions decisions...thanks for all the entries of what you like and dislike in your tsx
I can't believe so many people complain about the door feeling hollow. There are obviously practical considerations made when designing a car door, such as sound proofing, the overall weight it adds to the car, where to fit the components between the sheet metal and the inner paneling, things which greatly outweight the issue of how it feels to shut the door. Would packing the door with lead weights be a satisfactory solution?

NO. Because I've discovered that on an even, level surface, the door can close itself if you give it the right force. That is, it's weighted such that it can close itself when bouncing off one of the detent/stop points.
At first I was saying, "Dammit, I don't like this door bouncing back at me when I'm getting out!" Then I realized I could time it right, and have been able to throw the door open, step out (not leap, just briskly step out), and watch the door bounce ... creep in ... and gently thunk closed. It doesn't sound hollow this way. And I smile every time I see this.

As an aside, when I sold Acuras in 90-91 the Legend Coupe actually had a motor that would pull the door shut the last 1/4" or so. I'm not 100% sure why, besides the fact it was a big, heavy door. So it went "clunk" with a short motor "whir" after. Was fun and all, but I can only imagine the extra weight...

^ My guess is that they engineered the cabin so that there's a nice "whhhump" sound resulting from the impact of the door and whatever they had to do the the airflow and the acoustics in the cabin. Which would be great if only the "whhhump" didn't TOTALLY disappear whenever there's another door or a window open!
BTW, I shopped for TL's before buying a TSX. TL's doors don't sound any better overall. Sometimes yes, sometimes not. In fact, I had several occasions where the doors made a clattering sound inside when closing. They do look and feel more substantial, though (they are bigger and bulkier, after all).

Have had the car for about a month
LOVE:
- The way It hugs the curves, and just overall driving, its freaking fun.
- The Integrated Bluetooh & the navigation, probably because this is the first time I've had this in a car.
- The overall look of the car, clean lines, not too loud, sophisticated, not trying to be something it is not
- Mileage is great! and now that I have discovered that I can go further than the estimated range is even better.
HATE:
- Song titles are not displayed through the Aux input (I thought it was 2007)
- Along the same lines, radio state name(analog) is not displayed in the navi
- The Paint is Weak!
- The Sunroof lacks a one button close and open
One month with my TSX and i am having a blast!

how this thread jumped to mostly about doors. my 00 accord did the same shit. i think my door was opened and closed so much after a while that it wouldnt even stay open and would always close on me if i was ever on any kind of incline.
i love so much about my car...
however, i HATE the friggin locks! It's right where i rest my elbow while stuck in traffic (insert irritating whack almost daily). I want to take a saw and cut the little thing off the door! Too bad they didn't use the same locks as they have on the RDX or previous honda models where the lock is flush to the door handle on the inside.

That's really my only major beef with the car.
