Question Rust from Rock chip

Hey guys, been a while since I have been on here. Just to let everybody know, if you have forgotten me , I bought my TSX last Nov, it was a used 2004, with only 39,000 kms on it. Over the winter I never noticed because living here in Ottawa we get a lot of snow so the hood was always frozen with snow on it. I have noticed it for a while now after washing it a few times that there are a couple of rust spots where there are some rock chips from highway driving, but not sure how to remove it. What is the best way? I have one of those Acura paint pens, the one with the color on one end with the clear coat on the other. So I was thinking that I would get it removed then apply some touch up with some clear coast. Thanks guys!

They are only available in Canada, so I bought mine through the dealer.

are you sure they're from the rock chips and not embedded rusted metal flecks from someone else's brakes? If its simply superficial, a clay bar will do the trick.

Just thought I would post an update. I bought that clay bar from Mothers, it worked awesome. Holy crap, I didn't know how bad the paint was on the car. When you looked closely at it, there was so much break dust contamination, looked like frekles. Took me like 3 hours, but I went over the entire car very thoroughly and now it is like a brand new paint job. I wish I had before pics, but I may post up some recent pics when I get a chance to wash the car again.

I hear ya. I bought the Meguire's clay bar and was amazed at how many rust spots were on the surface upon close inspection. The clay bar did the trick however. Glad that's only needed once/year

I got a rust spot on mine from a chip too. I also have rust on the rubber part where the trunk meets?????
My parents got the hood of their chrysler changed after two years due to some rust spots...Covered under warranty. Wouldn't ours also be covered. I mean, I've had my car since oct 1st 2004 only, and there is rust (including in the trunk). I've never heard of this.
I had a subaru for several years, and didn't treat the car very well, and rust only showed after year 4 (no rustproofing)!!!!
Not cool...
