Rush Hour traffic

I left for work early to catch my commuter train early this morning around 5:40am.

I can't believe how bad the drivers are in the morning and thats early to me.
A dang Focus tailgates me for a mile and then changes lanes, its a 3 lane highway on each side. But, dang it annoys me and I want to start tailgating him and I do kinda scare him cause I'm starting to follow him changing lanes and then he accelerates to about 95mph in a 45mph area. I go to 80mph, but I stop cause I know there could be police. I didn't want to catch up to him, I just wanted to tell him that I didn't appreciate it. Just before I turn left, he's still going about 80 and I got down to 60, I flashed my brights to him to tell him I was mad. I still was able to make it to my train in plenty of time. I'm still on probation from a speeding ticket back in mid Dec. I think its a 90 day thing.

Do you think I overreacted? I don't want to end up as a road rageaholic.

A lil bit. Next time you know you have to brake cuz there's traffic or for traffic lights, instead of braking early, try brake a lil late and it will scares the shit of him. He won't tailgating you for a while. If you get into an accident then it'll be his fault for tailgating too close. IT's safer to do this way than tailgating him back.

While what he did was stupid, what you did was even stupider. Don't go chasing after a guy because he was tailgating you. And with all the traffic, you were contributing to the problem, not helping it.

Why run the risk of causing a wreck? We all have lapses in judgement on the road. Next time pull into a slow lane or just another lane and let him pass. Dont do any of the braking stuff hoping to scare him, you just might wind up causing a wreck. If by some chance there's a witness that says you stopped for no reason YOU get the ticket and have to pay for damages not the guy who rear ended you.
