Thumbs up Royal Blue w/ Dark Window Tint

I got my windows tinted today. It was a good news/bad news thing. The good news was that they did the job, the bad news was that a part in the driver's side rear door inside latch assembly broke. However, they told me up front and had already ordered a replacement, which they'll install as soon as it arrives. The other glitch is that, while it's only an $8 part, it's on back-order and they don't have an ETA. At least I can open the door from the outside, and I couldn't tell you the last time I had more than one passenger in the back - besides my dogs.

The tint looks nice...

I don't understand why they wouldn't appear, since I can see them fine. Let me know if this works:

I see you are hosting your images at webshots. You might want to try imageshack.us instead.

You can still view the pics by right clicking on the pic, copying the URL, and pasting it into your url browser. Worked for me! BTW nice pics. Looks good. What percent tint is that?

Can't wait to see the pics. This is the color I've decided on but want to see it in person before I purchase.

I think it's 20% front/50% rear. It's the highest allowed in Florida. I was originally going to have the dealer take care of it, then they said if I wanted it darker, I'd have to take care of it myself. After talking to the tint shop, I decided to stay with the legal one since they can't legally guarantee anything beyond that. They also said it wasn't dark enough to make a noticeable difference, so that settled it...

I just uploaded them to imageshack, but we'll have to wait: "Database maintenance in progress. Your uploaded images are recorded, but will not be seen during this maintenance. Things will return to normal in at 9:30 PM PST today. "

Presumably "today" means Wednesday and not Tuesday, suggesting they're running late....

imageshack was suppose to be up midnight Monday, and the message that you saw was the same as last night.

I guess I should not have assumed that "today" meant today!

I'm not a big tint guy, but your TSX looks sick!

Wow, the color has so many depth. From my computer it looks black and somewhat purple. Good tint too! Looks somewhat like mines....ABP.

Thanks - I'll check it out a bit later - it's still down for now. The tint is really helpful down here in Florida, just like A/C...

I've been noticing that too - there are a lot of subtle hues to the color. After I'd ordered it I wondered if I'd made the right choice, but I have no doubts now...

Sorry, I never thought of that. I have felt the far south heat and humidity so I give your tint job

I was like you and not positive when I first ordered the RBP if I made the right decision, now I wouldn't order any other colour. To paraphrase Tony the Tiger "It's gggrrrrreeeeaaaaattttttt."

That would be weird. I think you mean the other way around. From what I understand, the percentage indicates how much light will pass through. Just imagine a car with darker tint in front.

But yeah, niiiiiice.

That could be - I'll confess I didn't pay that much attention to what he said about the percentage, but I'll look on my receipt and see what it says. What I do know is that it's whatever is the darkest allowable in Florida....

You should consider taking off that dealership decal sticker underneath the rear "ACURA" badge. IMO that's free advertising for the dealership and looks out of place on any car.

Again, that is a sweet tint job!!

Thanks again! I'm probably going to get an Acura plate for the front instead of the dealer one. I found a pretty good price on Ebay - around $20 + shipping.

I'd say it's a dark grey. It's made by Diamond, if that's any help. I'll find out for sure tomorrow....

Looks like you have 35% on drvr and psgr doors and 20% on the rear. Thats FL law. And it looks like it!

Looks good! You need window tint in FL. Sometimes its so hot that the air from your a/c is warm by the time it hits your face and window tint is the only way to fix it. FL is where I learned to tint. It's like tint mania down there. Window tinting starting at $45.... WTF?

Sux they broke your door, good they're fixin it!

Cars looking good. Now go to "Rent and Roll!"jk

I got tint hookups in Sarasota, FL and WA for anyone interested. PM me.

I had a Nissan Sentra tinted in Sarasota in '94. They did a good job, but the back window started to get bubbles from the heat in 4-5 years...

he doesn't mean the acura dealership license plate holder, he means the dealer "decal" underneat the "Acura" on the left side of your trunk.

I asked my dealer not to put it on, he said, almost everyone asks that.

I told him not to worry, i'll tell plenty of people where i got the car.

The tint doesn't look bad, but it also makes the car look darker. i'm undecided. i guess i'll be torn. but don't really have to decide until summer time months.

If I recall, a little heat helps.

My dealer didn't add a sticker, they just have their name of the license plate frame which is okay.
