Rock chips - now starting to rust
Ok I have a 2005 TSX with a few rock chips since I drive on a major highway to and from work every day. One is on the hood of the car, one is on the drivers side A pillar and one is on the roof of the car and they have all starte dto show rust underneath. Is this covered by warranty? If so what will they do? Thanks!

most if not all rust warranties cover rust from the inside. if you look at your door jams and hinges and such, you should see the classic yellowish sticky stuff indicating your have rust proofing inside your panels. you are suppose to get it checked every so often to keep the rust proof warranty valid. it does not cover any surface rust, especially as a result of rock chips.
if your surface rust isn't too bad (as in, its a tiny hole), you can chip away at it, use a polisher to clean out the area (you can also try wet sanding, then polish the area) , and use touch-up paint to cover up the hole, put a bit of clear coat over it, wet sand, polish, wax/seal and voila! if the rust is substantial, you'll need to take it to a body shop...
lesson - always cover up major rock chips with touch-up paint (or at least keep it clean all the time!

just found a tiny spot of rust on my hood from a rock chip. the paint job on this car f'n sucks.. so pissed off.
a friend said to use something that oxidizes the rust and then use touch up paint pen over it.
I don't know how comfortable I am and picking away at the rust on my hood. what tool would i use anyhow, it's pretty tiny.
any ideas?

I had a deep scratch from a rock on my old car right on the hood, down to the metal. I kept it clean and well waxed and it never rusted. I would literally wax that spot about 8 times every time I waxed the car. I would recommend that if you don't feel comfortable with touch up paint or getting it professionally repaired.
