Road Noise

Has anyone done anything to soften the TSX's road noise? Just back from a 10-hour trip, I heard the tires too much and want a quieter car on the highway. Anyone try any upgrades -- tire swap, upgraded shocks, sound dampening for the doors, etc? Optimal tire pressure for less noise?

I replaced the OEM with Bridgestone Turanza LS-V of the same size. After breaking them in for a few hundred miles, they seem to be much more quiet. Concrete stretches on the freeway are still louder than I'd like, but I think any tire will give you high levels of noise on concrete. Check out tirerack.com for reviews.

I've currently got Toyo T1-R's running on mine and the road noise isn't too bad, but we get Bridgestone 2050M's as standard and they are pretty poor in comparison to most road tyres.

new tires like mentioned above and/or dynomat in the doors should cut it down quite a bit

I plan on getting these also, in the spring time when the threat of snow has passed and the snow tires can come off.

The stockers do suck. They only get noisier as they run in. I've got some Pirelli PZero Nero M&S's on the way.

Alright, thanks all. It seems new tires and maybe Dynomat are the way to go. No one mentioned shocks so I guess they have less effect.

TireRack.com has the Bridgestone Turanza LS-V for $139 each, and the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position ($150) are rated even higher for road noise, which is interesting given they are an Ultra-High Performance All-season tire. Anyone heard of better deals? I'd rather not spend $600 on new tires when the present set are fairly new.

You can always sell the stock tires in the Black Market section to offset the cost of new tires.........
