RL vs TL vs TSX

Saw an RL in the flesh and noticed some similarities to the TSX that I found interesting.

1/ Integrated signal lights in the side mirrors. They skimped out on the TL but it looks like they thought the RL was worthy.

2/ Chrome on the door handles. I dont think the TL has this either?

3/ It comes in blurple! Or a color thats pretty dam close. Now why would they discontinue this color to the TSX and introduce it for the RL?

1/ TSX and RL are world platforms - signal lights in mirror is the standard way of meeting other countries' side marker requirements. TL - NA only.

2/ Can't afford chrome in Ohio?

3/

Obviously because Blurple is a sohisticated color for a sohisticated audience. Acura realizes only people with some class will appreciate the color and since most RL buyers have class it was a perfect fit.

This site reinforces Acura's belief that most TSX owners have bo class.

I think all the elements from the TSX that are on the RL are definitely fitting for the car. It's all about a level of sophistication that is generally lacking in many other cars available on the market.

And fdl is probably right about the world platform thing. Even the TL lacks a bit of the sophistication that we see in the RL and TSX.

I agree...why would you want two of the same car?
I know two people who have done the same thing...
One couple bought two Mustangs at the same time. At least one was a convertible.
The other has two Jeep GC's. They got those abt 16 months apart. I would have thought that 16 months of owning a DC product would have taught you something

I just know that I enjoy owning two different kinds of vehicles (Pathfinder and TSX). I love my TSX but can't see having 2...unless the wife had the Auto and I was able to get the 6 speed

To each their own....

I think that color is called Montreal Blue. TVM is darker and in more red tone on it.

Hey BlueSky, hope you dun mind I post your ride over here! since your TVM are so sick!

My neighbors back at home had His / Hers M3's until they moved out to NY and traded them in for a Cayanne T.

Remember, Brad and Jennifer have his / hers 911 Turbos

1. I liked the integrated signal lights also. However, on the TL I think they would have looked stupid. Just because the TL has sidemarkers that the TSX and RL do not. That would have been WAY too many lights IMO. Of course, Acura could have made the TL sidemarkers blink, but they didn't do that either...

2. Not much chrome on the TL anyway. The TSX has chrome ringing the windows also, the handles just help with the cohesive theme. I don't think the TL requires them, and I don't prefer them.

I actually saw the RL at a dealership last week. Very nice looking and aggressive, with some monster front brakes also. It was crying out for some 18's though. A car that size, even 17's look small.

The paddles on the steering column was also a nice touch (although does anyone think that the RL center stack is a little cluttered?)

Well, that's half the fun with blurple, it changes colour with the light. It's also one that can look vastly different from one monitor to another. This is from before I got the tint done, but it seems like a pretty fair representation of the colour in overcast light. The Legend one above looks a bit darker to me.
