From reverse to drive

Hi all,

Does anyone notice that when you go from reverse to a complete stop then while your foot is on the brake you go from reverse -> neutral the car drops (for lack of a better term) to the right. the same happens only to a smaller degree when you go from neutral -> drive.

has/does this happen to anyone else?

I believe it's torque on the drive train when the car is in gear and the brakes are on. I've noticed this with different cars, it will get worse if you give it a bit of gas.

Is the car on an incline or decline? I'm not sure if this minimzes this issue but try applying the e-brake before putting the gear from D--->Park. Next time you go, put the car in gear before taking the e-brake off.

The only apparently common thing that happens with the 5AT is when the engine/tranny is cool then there will be clunk when moving from R to D.

Hope that helps, the e-brake usage might not help here but is a good habit to get into.
