I have a 5AT also with around 800 mi. on her. Last night I got on this thing hard. I'd been into the v-tec range on a couple of occasions, but last night I let loose. I turned the AC off opened the sunroof and windows and turned the stereo off. I shifted from 1st to second at 6500 rpm's and held 2nd till 6500 then on to third. This thing jams, I had to be doin a 100mph before I chilled, felt so good I turned around and did it again. You can say what you want about the the 6MT being the only way to fly, but I was blown away at how fast this thing got rollin.

 

Open it on up ....

 

It seems to me I've heard that the issue with break-in is rpms. I don't think it matters if you floor it as long as you back out of it early enough.

Not that that answers the need to feel and hear it pull to 7K.

Could be wrong about this, anyway. Has anyone else heard the same thing?
