replacing the battery...

I would like to replace the wimpy battery that comes in the TSX....does anyone know of a fitment that Optima makes that will work in our cars? I know Optima started to make a special fitment for Hondas...anyone know if this would work in the TSX???

What's wimpy about the battery? What impact does that "wimpiness" have on the operation of the car?

Maybe I should have chosen my words better. The stock Panasonic battery is only 410 CCA's. I would like to add something that is closer to 600 or so. Around here it's been close to -35 to -45 Celsius the last week and the car does _not_ like to start. I would like to upgrade it if something is available....that's how it affects the operation of the car in my situation.

I suggest moving to a warmer location. The car is telling you that - she's looking out for you man

The optima batteries should drop in without any difficulty. If not, it's a relatively simple task to make a bracket that will work.

I agree that the stock battery is just barely adequate for the Canadian climate. The starter motor hardly has enough juice to turn the engine over.

Mine was starting rough too here in Ohio when it got down to only a low of 20 F. I'll be looking for a battery next year for sure.

In your case, you need DieHard or International. They are very expensive but they can take the beating.

I have had to replace 3 batteries in my '04 with 54XXX miles. The last one Acura put in (no charge) was a Johnson Controls with 830 CCA. My service rep told me Acura is dropping Panasonic batteries.

I just learned that Johnson Controls make many brands of batteries:

OEM Honda
OEM Mazda
OEM Ford
OEM Mitsubishi
Walmart
Costco
Autozone
Optima
Sears
etc.

I bought an Optima 51R last September and haven't had any problems. Looks nice, too.
