I can't find the ilnk ot the steps required for removing the conter console trim piece. I have an '08 6MT and the plastic trim piece on the console is making all kinds of creaking noises. I want to remove it and line it will sticky-backed felt to aid n supressing the noise. Any help truly appreciated. I remember doing it on my'04 6MT when I installed the iPod connection but cannot recall the steps. i got as far as popping out the upper storage area and removed the two screws from the Not an Ashtray bin but could not get it out either so I stopped there. Thank you.

 

if its anything like the 04 TL,
you'll just use a butter knife wrapped in a cloth to protect the trim while prying.
Start from the end near the arm rest and work your way up to the radio stack.
Carefully pry up, as clips are holding the trim piece in place.
be careful not to bend the alum. piece
