Rearview Mirror Shakeathon Poll

Rearview Mirror Shakeathon Poll
I posted a similar thread in "car fixes", but thought that I would get more hits here.
I have a TSX 6MT SSM for 3 months now (2100 miles) with a really shakey rearview mirror. I noticed it the day I purchased the car driving off the lot. This is on SMOOTH road and NO Stereo. Service dept acknowledged the problem tried to tighten the joint but didnt resolve the problem so he replaced it with a new mirror. Much to my dismay, it did not solve the problem. Being constantly reminded and demoralized with seeing blurrys during the day and squiggles at night in my 28k luxury sports sedan, I took it to another Acura service dept. Head Service Manager tells me that he has been noticing this ambient low grade shake in the TSXs. His scientific explanation is that the TSX interior is so well sealed that any vibrations from sound or road will translate to the windshield and the manner in which the mirror is mounted on a bar between two joints allow the shaking to be more noticeable. He believes that this is a design problem with the new TSXs.
I know not everyone has this problem. But for those that do (you know the annoyance I am talking about), please participate!!! Has anyone else noted this, when, how and any quick solutions??
Thanks for your participation.

My mirror shakes, too, but only with heavy bass music or coarsely surfaced roads. It's because the windshield vibrates, and the mirror is stuck to the windshield.

Mine vibrates when I have the stereo on.
Per US Federal regulations, the rearview mirror is designed to readily break away if there's any impact on it, so be careful if you are cleaning your inside windshield! Early 80's Hondas lost their rearview mirrors all the time. You always had to replace them because some critical part would snap. I haven't had this problem with later model Hondas, however, but they too have vibration issues.

I'm hoping people aren't confusing shaking (like the rearview mirror is loose and it's gonna fall off any second) VS. vibrating (small quivering with most everyday road imperfections, bumps, etc.). Mine is the latter and that is what this thread is referring to.

Mine's as stiff as a sailor coming home from a year at sea.
Sorry. It only shakes when the music is loud.

Mine shakes when I have the sunroof open. The pop up wind diflector is vibrating due to wind and making quite a racket thus vibrating my mirror. I have to drive around with my hand on the deflector to keep it from vibrating.

No shakes. Sure a little but of vibe, but that's mainly because the whole windshield is flexing due to my too loud music, or abnormal pressure and vibe from the sunroof/windows. But then, it's just a bit.

3000 miles and the vibrations are worse
What irritated me was the service manager saying that the mirror vibrating was a defect of acura tsx engineering and that was something I had to live with. In the worst case, he explains, the windshield could be mounted loose or incorrectly. I'd wished they told me that before!!! Anyways I guess I am getting used to the violent vibrations and distorted blurry images in my rearview mirror. 3000 miles strong. The car is great, but the rearview mirror vibrations are progressively getting worse!

A-TSX Oldie
8500km later, the shaking has pretty much disappeared. wonder if it just needs time to 'settle in'. used to drive me nuts with the vibrations, but now it only shakes when there's bass driving the back speakers.
picking up my car from the dealer later today from the first service. they've had my car overnight looking at the various rattles i've had (driver door lock and sunroof cover among them); and the service rep says everything's fine now. we'll see...

5200 miles, only vibrates with the bass.
That dealer's (tsxster's) original suggestion is such garbage that it's hilarious
"Sir, that defect exists because your car is SO well made that...."

Not an Ashtray
I have 5000 miles or so and find that the mirror shakes with the bass. However, I have to say that I had the exact same problem with both of my Accords from day one of ownership. It never got better or worse, and the situation with my new TSX is no different.
For me, it is basically a non-issue.
