Rear reflectors

I was behind a stock tsx last evening. I noticed that the reflectors at the bottom of the rear bumper really stand out. I know that is what they are supposed to do, but they aren't particularly flattering to the car. They just look out of place. Has anyone removed their's?

I think they look perfectly fine. Leave them on!

Perhaps it was because I was focusing on them and therefore thinking about it that made them stand out so much. They did seem to pull the eye away from the more attractive tail lights though.

Tape over them... or smoke paint them... some users have asked about removing them before for painting them, etc.. Search and you'll find it.

IMO, I think they are perfectly fine... no need to mess with them

check with member RockBlocker to see if they would be willing to do a run of tint film for those reflectors.

That's not a bad idea, considering if I pull them it probably wouldn't look right. I'm not sure if the tint would stick over the raised lettering though.

I do think they look fine during the day. It's just at night that they stand out so much. I guess they are useful for keeping Shriners and clown cars from bumping into our cars though.

IMO, if you noticed them that well, then you just might be thankful they do their job so well next time you're driving in foggy conditions and you have someone rapidly creeping up your ass. Those reflectors might be just good enough to keep you from getting hit from behind.

i had a chance to see my tsx on the road as i followed in another car at night. i thought the reflectors did look a little out of place, but that was before i put an oem spoiler on. the brake light from the spoiler compliments the reflectors nicely.

as for a stock tsx, maybe the reflectors could be just a little farther apart. i think still looks good either way.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we legally have to leave them on?

I don't think our tailights have reflectors on them, so that's why the ones on the rear bumper are there.

Yup, it's been mentioned before that TSX have reflectors there because the tail light assembly doesn't include reflectors.

Though I am not sure how likely a cop will pull you over for not having or taping/painting over them I don't think it's illegal per se...

Just about every state requires that your car reflect red/amber to the rear at night in the event your tail lights are not working. Since the TSX does not have reflective lenses over the rear lights, your reflectors are most likely MANDATORY, and if removed, would be a violation. If you don't like them, no problem. Just find some way to make two other places on the back of your car reflect red light to the rear.
