Rarest color combo?

After reading the NBP/ebony thread, I was wondering if anyone knows what the rarest color/transmission combo is. No one may actually know for sure, but what have you seen the fewest of? I would bet that the black on ebony with the 6 speed is indeed a rare bird. I could care less if it's got Navi or not!

So let's hear it, what's the rarest? ABP might run away with this........did anybody actually buy that color?? I'm kidding of course

Actually, from personal experience, I would have to say either the MR/Parchment interior or the MSM/Quartz. I hardly ever see any of those.

I own a black/ebony 6speed with nav. I had a choice of two of that color combo and trim from two different dealers. I can't assume that means that color combo is more common though, I may have just been lucky.

We have the MR-quartz combo, I've only ever seen one other one period, not sure if it's the rarest?

My area is full of Blacks, CG, and SSM....I'd say White is the next I see.

Red, Blue and our MS are the ones I rarely see.

I meant satin silver not Meteor silver like we have.

I see MSMs all the time around here. Maybe I'm just always seeing the same one...

Anyway, since MSM, ABP, and PWP only come with one interior, I don't think they can be the most rare. It's got to be one of the ones with two interior choices. The less popular interior would make it more rare, since most of the people with the same exterior got the other interior, right? Like NBP/Parchment can't be that common because everyone got NBP/Ebony. I've seen two NBP/Parchment ever. SSM/Quartz is probably pretty rare, too. I would put CG/Quartz in that category, but since every 3rd TSX seems to be CG, it's not even close.

Regardless, I'm going to go with Red/Ebony/Navi/6MT. What do I win? Does anybody even HAVE one of those yet?

My dealer has an AT NBP/Ebony with Navi on the floor that they were willing to drop a couple hundred bucks over the color combo I really wanted. Not my taste, so I'm holding out. Another dealer 20 miles away has the same car. Strange!

I work at an acura dealer, been here for 5 years. The RAREST would be a MSM/QZ/NAVI/6spd. I have NEVER seen one on my lot. Every other color has shown up at least at one point in time, but NEVER that one. Automatic is another story - they are all pretty available.

In case you didn't know, writing in capital letters is perceived by internet forum standards as shouting. Thus, a post being written completely in caps lock is perceived as being either because you are truely impolite and your post should be automatically edited, or you're a dumb user, whose post should be automatically edited as well. Which is why Vbulletin will edit your post automatically.

Try telling Vbulletin to get a life! I'm sure you could..

ABP/6MT/Navi is pretty hard to come by, i believe. i ordered one in December and it won't be available until March. dealers around here (LA) hardly have 6MTs...i guess a lot of people are deterred by the traffic.

I have a MSM/6MT/NonNavi/Qtz. I have yet to see that combo in the Houston area or anywhere else. MSM is not a popular color.

Sorry for the , but you should check out Thomas Acura (West Covina) and Tustin Acura. When I was looking for my car, they had at least 2 ABP, 1 with at least your combo on each lot. But then again, that was 1 month ago...

In any case, it wouldn't hurt to call either dealer and check with them. Maya and Yvonne are great gals over at Thomas, and Berry/Barrie (can't remember the spelling of her name) and John Mackay are great people over at Tustin.

And I've seen all colors out on the road, even the elusive IBP, but for some reason I only see the ABP on the lots.

Maybe it's my area or I haven't been around enough, but since I bought my NBP/Ebony, I have only seen 3 TSXs on the hwy:

MR, CG, PWP (not sure what the interior color was)

I appreciate the advice. I was in talks with John Mackay at Tustin Acura for a while, but for the last few months they, like most of the other dealers out here, had very few 6MT w/ Nav TSXs. I do, however, agree that the internet sales people at Tustin are very nice and helpful. I just decided to make the process easier for me and I ordered the exact car I wanted through the Northern California group buy for $500 over invoice. I have some friends up that way, so picking the car up in Sacramento is no problem...I'll just have to be easy on the revs and vary the speed coming back down to So Cal!

I haven't seen enough TSXs around to be able to guess what the rarest color combo is, but while we're competeting here I'd bet that there's not a single other MSM/6MT w/Nav and a green ignition ring on the boards here.

So a NHB/Ebony 6MT Navi is pretty rare? Mine was the first car you see in the showroom, I bought the next day after I first saw it.

With respect to the Greater Toronto Area, although I agree that IBP is rare (given that it has been discontinued), I've seen several IBP's around town. What I've yet to see are CG's or ABP's on the road. (Well, yours truly excluded) I can't wait to see another Canadian ABP - mad love!

I have a 04 MSM/Quartz/non navi/6-spd. I in jacksonville florida. I do not now if there is any truth to this and it did not affect my purchase in any way but when I bought mine the dealer told me that he can only get about 5 of the MSM a year in the 6 spd form. Any body know if there is any truth to this.

Not true. Again, I work at a dealership - we can order whatever combinations we want. Basically we fill out an order form every once in a while and send it in. The factory just puts it together and viola! there it is. So technically a dealer could order 100 of the same color and combo, however it would be stupid. So i guess his statement was only half true. The only car that is limited is the NSX. Dealers are only allowed one per year, unless they get one from the local autoshow.

We are taking deliver this week on MSM/Quartz/6speed/Navi. Dealer had to search for
it and have it delivered from another state.

Just this weekend, we bought a 2005 TSX 6-speed non-nav, red on black. We drove from Austin to Houston (about 175 miles) to get the car because we wanted that exact color combination and it was the only red on black non-nav 6-speed we could find in 12 states.

I think the most prevalent colors for TSX in general are gray, silver, and black. The least prevalent seem to be blue and red. I think white is somewhere in the middle.

Quick Reply: Rarest color combo?
