Radar bands used by the LEOs in your area?

Just want to let all the TN TSX owners know...

So far, I've detected usage by State Troopers/Highway Patrols firing off the following bands of radar: X, K, Ka, Pop.

Pop was supposed to be rare, but I got "PoPed" today by a Highway Patrol, however, I was only going the posted limit of 55 at the time

Haven't experienced lasers yet. Any Tennessee owners know if laser is used here?

Why not share it with all Acura owners in TN? i.e. - post it in Off Topic?

I guess I'm making the info exclusive since I have the TSX, not the TL.

This way, all fellow TSX owners get preferential treatment here to reward them for their great taste in cars!

Here in the DFW area the cops use K, Ka, and I got my ticket last week due to the use of laser from an Arlington cop hiding in the dark... :angryfire

Mostly Lasers here. I have yet to find an effective laser detector that will warn me w/ enough time to slow down.

Does anyone know of one?

From what I've researched, you'll need a laser jammer and it might be worth your investment as they are at least $700+ new and plus installation if you're not mechanically inclined.

A radar detector, no matter how good will not save your butt. Once you're tagged, due to their concentrated light beam, you're toast.

Escort sells the jammers... www.escortradar.com.

Personally, they're too expensive for my taste and I've yet to encounter lasers here in TN so not worth it for me.

Here in NY state troopers use ka since their moving laser only when their hiding tight spots.

Amherst police uses ka mainly sometimes pop comes up
and rarely k maybe on older cop cars.

I see x in like nowheres land and middle of nowhere towns.

cestmoi, thanks for the link on the escort jammer.

Here's another for others to read comparing the unit to other jammers.

Yea, try having one and spending time with one. They arent a get out of jail free card. If you use your head and pay attention they will decrease your likely hood of getting caught by about 99%.

Mount it low to your windshield, remove your front plate and watch for cops and you will have more than enough time to slow down before clocked. Radar will get you far longer than laser.
