R/S Axle seal leaking?
When I went to my Acura dealer to get an oil change, the tech told me about 10 mins later that they noticed the R/S Axle seal was leaking and it needed to be replaced. But, it costs $289.00! Do I really need to fix this or is this just BS from the dealer? What happens if I don't fix this leak?
I asked the tech the reason why it was leaking and he said that due to wear and tear on the TSX because it's almost 4 yrs old. I did buy it in Dec. 2003. I wish though that it was covered by the warranty, but I'm already past 4 yrs and 50K miles since I'm at 56K miles now.

I acutally damaged or they were weak, both my inboard CV joints. Replaced both half shafts for that much and put them in myself. Get a second opinion and if you do need a new half shaft, do both and talk to Excelerate here for a better set.

I have seen a few fail here and it could be that they are just weak. The magic mph was around 56mph up to 65mph that a shake occurs.
