dynamat or sound dampening.

You have to check for panels that are causing the rattle, basically get a song with the most bass and start sticking some dynamat on the shaky parts.

Some people go crazy on it, I only found that it rattled when the trunk is open.

Its not about tightening it i get the same thing it somewhere on the frame thats causes the rattle for the most part.

You can try checking the bolts and screws, but for me it didn't help.

Lower the trunk lock latch

When you open your trunk, look straight down, it's the [ ] looking thing, that your trunk lock locks onto, there's two bolts, loosen those two bolts, and move it down a cm or two. It will get rid of a lot of the rattling, but not all of it.

*Note: Move it too much, and your trunk will be noticably not flush with your quarter panels, but it's fixable, so just play around with it. It doesn't take long. It makes a huge difference.

Dumb question here, but are you sure its not your license plate frame? Happened to me once.

You buy a pack of sound dampener and locate the problem areas and apply. Dynamat is expensive so I used eDead. Cheaper but same performance. The problem area with my TSX is the rear q panels and my rear speaker deck.

i got rid of the license plate rattle its just the trunk lid (or at least most of the sound is from the trunk lid) . How would i pack dynamat( or something similar) into the Q panels?

if i remember correctly there should be trunk vents for fresh air that exit out of the sides of the trunk located behind the bumper. I have has issues with these in civics accords and preludes. What happens is the rubber flap will vibrate back and forth causing a noise. What we used to do was cut out the flap and mount a piece of screening with a piece of cloth sandwhiched in there
