A-Ziners and A-Zinettes,

I am shopping around for an extended warranty for the TSX (04 & 40k miles) from a Acura Dealership. Specifically the 7 year/100k zero deductible variety.

In searching the forum, the best quotes I have seen so far are:

Mission Viejo Acura (Mission Viejo, CA)- $1050
Falconi's Acura (Las Vegas, NV) - $1100

Also, from the forum I found that usually, the avg dealer would charge ~$1300

Are there any other deals for extended warranty that you know of?

Another question is 'does the extended warranty price should depend on the mileage of the car you are purchasing the warranty for?' Intuition says yes, but then if its higher mileage, it would reach 100k that much quicker than a lower mileage vehicle.

Will they sell you the warranty site unseen? Those look like good prices compared to my dealer, they wanted $1800 for that one. No thanks.

 

I paid 1900 for 7yrs, 100k, but it was a special almost third party warranty that covers wear and tear (except tires and glass). The company that offered it was called MPP and owns many different dealerships (including the one I bought it from) and has been in business since the 1950's....Overall, I didn't think it was too bad considering manufacture warranty only covers defects and won't cover you if something breaks down. Unfortunatly this won't be refunded if we never use it.
