Quick Question: Hands Free Link Capability

I have a quick question about hfl. I am about to buy a new cell phone but I have a question about the HFL in the 06tsx. Are all phones with bluetooth capable to work with HFL?

I am looking at Nokia N80 or LG chocolate...both have bluetooth but I am unsure if either would work for tsx. Does anyone ? Thanks.

As long as the phone supports HFP (Hands-Free Profile) it will. This is the universal test. You can check it in a model-by-model basis on sites like www.phonescoop.com

Acura's

Handsfree Link site is lagging pretty far behind in their "testing" of current handsets on the market, so definitely do not limit yourself to their selection. As previously stated, virtually any handset with bluetooth set up with a Handsfree protocol will work. I will tell you that virtually any GSM (T-Mobile, Cingular) phone with bluetooth produced in the past year should be no problem. You mentioned a CDMA (Verizon, Sprint) phone (the Chocolate) that is being offered from Verizon. Definitely check it out carefully before you buy, Verizon is one of the most restrictive carriers in terms limiting the bluetooth abilities of a handset. Phonescoop is a great site that will tell you what the handset is capable of according to the manufacturer, that doesn't mean the carrier will let the enable that capability when the phone is regulated for their network.

Be sure to test ALL of the features. Just because it pairs up and can dial out does not mean its compatible. Just because the phone says that it supports HFP does not mean that its fully compatible either.

With the A900 I just bought I noticed that the SEND feature as well as hanging up does not work (you have to wait for the other person to hang up) or at least a good read of HFL gotchas read more about my experience with the A900's HFL support here: https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-navigation-22/samsung-a900-06-tsx-bluetooth-compatability-343877/

Good luck!
