Quick question about Seatbelt Beep
Hey guys,
I searched but I couldn't find an answer to this. Is there any way to make the car not beep at me for not wearing my seatbelt?
I wear my seatbelt 99% of the time but I live in an apt. building with a multi-level parking garage and I normally take my seatbelt off on the ground level and then drive up to my spot on the fourth level. Well, the car beeps at me for not wearing it and it gets annoying.
My old Civic and tC had hacks where you could program it so that it would flash the light but it wouldn't beap at you any longer. Has anyone found out how to do this on a TSX?

Been covered before here, but basically, short of buying a used seat belt clip to stick in there and being totally unsafe 1% of the time, there is no short way to disable it. I know on our 04 TSXs, we don't have this issue. Not sure if it was 05 or 06 when the TSX started the annoying beep.

Thanks Moda_way.
I don't want to go through the hassle of having to buckle in a false seatbelt everytime. I normally only take my seatbelt off when I come into the garage because I get out, grab the mail, and jump back into my car and then proceed to my spot (without buckling my seatbelt since I don't even get to 10MPH).
Oh, well, i guess I'll just have to live with the beep.

I think a few folks talked about a few ways to do it, but as I recall there wasn't any real solution and the guy asking at that time took a beating too even suggesting driving around without his seatbelt. Your situation seems much more logical.

My friend with a BMW what we do in her car is just blast the music for a few minutes and then it goes away. I hate those things they are really annoying. Now granted I know you should wear your seatbelt and its dumb not too but I just dont think your car should tell you.

Not that i disagree at all....
hahaha.. but I can name about 5 parts widely discussed on here that create a safety issue.
Besides, I think I mentioned in my post that the 1% of the time it is unsafe if you're wearing it 99% of the time.

Let me help you!
I wish I could do it for the passenger's seat...my dad always rides without his seat belt...he prefers it that way. I know it's not legal if your passengers don't wear their seatbelt, but my dad used to work for the LAPD and wasn't worried about it

Is it safe? Probably not; but, it was legal.
Anywho, I only hear the beep three times for about 5 seconds each time on my way from my mailbox to my parking spot. I'll live with it.

I know it is not a good idea to ride without your seatbelt, but I've done it a few times... I'd probably be doing it a lot more if it wasn't for that damn beep LOL
However, in my 06AT , if I just ignore the beep, after about 10 mins of 30 second interveal beeps, it goes away :-)

I didn't know later TSX's had this feature. I absolutely hate it on my Ford work van. Wearing seatbelts should be a personal decision and not forced on anyone by Big Brother.

Needs more Lemon Pledge
Go ask the governor of New Jersey if wearing a seatbelt is a good idea. You may have to wait until he comes off the ventilator, though.
