One of the MANY problems I've had with my TSX recently was the death of all the lights on the center console. Anyway, my dealership replaced the radio but now the lights and displays on the radio / HVAC controls are really bright at night. I seem to recall that they were linked to the rheostat on the dashboard, but it now only changes the brightness of the speedometer and tach...

Am I remembering that right? Is this thing installed wrong? Who has the 4 CDs that were in my changer? Will my TSX ever JUST WORK again?

These are all questions I'd love to know the answers too... but mainly just the one about does the rheostat in the speedo/tach pod of an 04 TSX also control the brightness of the displays on the center console.

1. your CDs are still in the CD player. When the radio gets shipped to Honda Remanufacturing they will send them back to the dealership when they dismantle it.

2. sounds like the dimmer isnt working on the radio. i havnt walked down to my car, but if i recall all the interior lights dim and get brighter when i change the brightness of the gagues.

 

yeah, i remember turning one of the knobs dimmed the speedometer, tach, and radio...

 

yeah the rheostat in the dash controls all the lights in the interior... even the lights on the window condrols. I have an 06, but I would bet it is the same. Throw a fit man and get your cds back too.

 

the rheostat should control everything. Get it fixed, and get your CDs!

 

You couldn't take the CD's out before having Acura replace the unit?

 

Never did for me. I was pissed. They were all CD-Rs anyway.

 

They never told me they were replacing the radio until after they did it. All I knew was all the lights on the center console (except the defrost and rear-heater lights) stopped working.

So to answer your question: NO.
