Question regarding work done under Warranty
Question regarding work done under Warranty
Does anyone know whether Acura compensates dealers for warranty work? If so, should it make any difference whether you bought the car at that dealership?
For instance, the dealer I get service at is not the same as the one I purchased my TSX. I still get a loaner but I have a feeling I'm getting "ahem" stuck with the RSX and the non-navi TSXs. (
)

Well, the point of this thread is that if the dealer/mechanic is getting paid regardless of what kind of issue (rattles, brakes, vibrations etc) the owner is reporting, then why don't they really make an effort to resolve the problem? I find that half my issues are "not reproducible". But as soon as I pull out of the lot, I can magically make it to appear.

They get a fraction of what they should get for warranty work.
Plus, the "rattles" are hard to reproduce, so you either got to live with them or bother them like crazy until it's solved.
As for many of us, it all magically dissappeared.

I once read a magic solution to the rattle problems that has worked for me ever since. It's a pretty cool and simple trick. There is a round knob just right of the key ignition slot. Press it and rotate it to the right. Or if you prefer, use the leftmost button on the steering wheel and push on the top part. Repeat until the rattles disappear.

I dont htink they get paid full price. Otherwise, they'd do warranty work all day. Of course, they get paid something... otherwise those mechanics would all quite.
Coincidentally i know this Honda technician that quit just so that he could go to sell Hondas. He said that the scheduled maintenance on the cars were getting longer and long apart. So as a result, the majority of the work leftover was commonly warranty issues which they dont get paid much for. As a result he says he earns more money in sales and that's why he's there.
