Question: Additional cost for AT on 2005 TSX?

From the Hondanews website describing the 2005 TSX changes:

"Since many performance enthusiasts prefer shifting gears themselves, the TSX comes with a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission or a compact 5-speed Sequential SportShift TM automatic transmission for an additional cost. "

Do you think that Honda will charge more as stated above, or is that a typo??

Anybody know the real scoop?

I dunno wat u were reading, but I just looked at the site and here is the quoted paragraph from there site:-
The Acura TSX comes in one trim level that includes perforated leather upholstery, a power glass moonroof, HID headlights, a premium sound system and much more. It features either a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission or an advanced 5-speed SportShift automatic transmission. The only factory option is the Acura Navigation System with Voice Recognition.
As you can see, there is no statement of any additional charge for the automatic

Seems kinda out of place for them to do this since they didn't do this with the 2004 model.

So, I'm wondering, did the value of my AT TSX just go up?

Or did the value of the MT go down?

We have a 2005 manual trans on order. I think Acura is responding to the fact that the residual value of the manual will definitely be lower than the automatic and the fact that the manual costs them less to begin with.

I thought that the magnesium case in the MT brought the cost up to par with the AT

Also, the MT's i've seen for sale are typically more $ than the autos.

I think it would make sense to have the MT cheaper though.

when i was talking to my dealer about the 2005 (cuz i was interested in one) he said that unlike most car companies that charge more for the automatic than the manual the TSX manual and automatic are priced the same
no bias pricing

Observation: the 2005 automatic RSX costs $900 more than manual, even though it was already this way last year.

The Type-S is sweet this year. But that won't deter me from getting my beloved TSX
