Question about Ipod Integration for TSX 2004
I recently purchased an Ipod video and I am now looking to install ipod connection to my tsx.
My question is, should I get Ipod Input Adapters or Aftermarket stereo decks with iPod control?
They seem to cost about the same and I was wondering what everyone thought and why?
Thanks in advance.

I'd been holding off for the Neo, but after contacting the seller about the XcarLink, I'm more than happy with the way it'll operate in conjunction with the Navi and steering wheel controls.
My major concern about all of them was the way in which it would integrate as well as operate.
A recent spell with a VW Golf with factory iPod integration left a lot to be desired - namely the iPod set to randomise track order, but the Golf would always change that to linear mode, so 1-5 was the first 5 playlists, and 6 was the whole library but not randomly.
So, due to the responses I got from the seller, I'm going to be grabbing the XcarLink and at long last, be able to use my iPod in the car.
Just thought I'd let others this side of the pond know there's an alternative to what's already known about and discussed to death.

So. yeah. i just bought a USA-Spec on eBay. I hope the installation goes smooth. it seems like the big step is to remove that middle storage bin. from what i've seen on that video clip by Neo Ipod, already there is a hole for the ipod cable to run through on top of the bin. is this true?
wish me luck guys thanks.

I ran the cable out the bottom of the console to the passenger side floor. I have enough cable to set the iPod on the passenger seat or put it in the cup holder when I actually have a passenger.

built for speed
The isimple adapter mentioned by others seems decent but the way I read the product description suggests it requires a satellite radio equipped car. The '04 TSX did not have Sat radio.

I'm looking at getting the USAspec controller, but can you still control the ipod after its connected? or does it lock up so you need to control it with the deck/ steering wheel?
I've only got a Monster adaptor that sends the ipod signal through the radio, but I'm getting alot of feedback for some reason on every station I try.

i got a level four adapter from www.acuraipod.com
it was $130 but it came with everything i needed for install, it took about an hour to plug and play and it worked perfectly the first time.
It charges my ipod, turns off the ipod 60 mins after the engine turns off to conserve battery, lets me control the music through my ipod, but still track fwd and backward via headunit and steering wheel controls.
It is really an awesome product. I have a 04 MT w/Nav w/o satellite

Was this easy to install? It looks like you have to remove the radio.

Here are 2 questions
Does the USA Spec display ipod information on the headunit of the car?
Do you have to create special playlists for the USA Spec to work? Thanks
