Quartz interior -- wear?

Hey AZ peeps-

I test drove an 07 TSX with Quartz interior the other day and noticed that the quartz seats showed a ton of wear and creasing. This was a dealer car with not that many miles on it.

Since then I have decided to go with a new '07 instead. I am trying to decide on the ebony interior vs the quartz. The quartz will make the car interior look larger but the ebony will hide the dirt better.

Can anyone who owns either one, quartz or ebony tell me their experiences with wear, dirt, and creasing of their seats.

Thanks,

Dan

My quartz interior has 60,000 miles on it. Little to no signs of wear.

And, I'm not at all convinced the ebony will hide dirt better. Anything light (sand, dust, etc) will really stand out on dark seats.

I have the quartz in my car as well.
It'll show "darker" dirt more and be careful with belts, but all in all, I am very happy with my decision.

Depending on where you live, also consider how hot that black leather can/will get in the summer

Just keep the Quartz cleaned and conditioned and it'll last for quite a long time.

I have an '04 with quartz and it's holding up great after 37k miles. I clean and condition my seats once a month with Zaino leather cleaner & conditioner. You're going to get creases with any color leather, so you might as well get the color you like best.

I had my 06 CGP w/ quartz since May 06 and it is holding up with no problems w/ 12,000 on the odo. I put in the OEM black all weather mats, which I think makes the interior look a lot better and clean up is a breeze. I’ve also kept the conditioning regiment up every 3 to 4 weeks since purchase. The only dark marks I’ve notice is on the door sills from getting in/out of the car. Just make sure you don’t wear anything that can wear out the leather (belts/cloths with studs or metal, rubbing against the seat side bolsters getting in/out of the car).

I once had a CGP loaner car with Ebony interior and dark window tint. It felt like I was sitting in a cave looking out with all the dark colors. The Quartz will brighten up the interior and make the car feel more open.

Naw, just get yourself a good windshield sun deflector and park facing the sun each day (or in shade when available). This will largely keep the seats from getting very hot.

65K miles on my quartz. I use Meguiar's leather conditioner and vinyl cleaner every 3 months. I've got mild to moderate creasing and mild wear, but no dirt.

i also have quartz interior and have some creasing, but like someone else said, having ebony is not really going to prevent that either. i can also vouch for putting marks on the lower door panel, as i used to "kick" my door as i got out. now i make sure i don't "kick" it on my way out. whatever color you get, you just have to take care of it by cleaning it and conditioning it, more so when you start seeing age.

I have had both colors, and to me the creasing/wear was about the same.

Leather is going to wear over time, there's no real way around it. Expecting it to look as perfect as the day you bought it a couple of years later is unrealistic. Creasing and the like is indicative of normal wear for leather. Just keep it cleaned/conditioned and it will be fine.

Mine looks great after 3+ years. Perfect? Nope. Who cares?

I have '04 TSX/quartz interior with 80,000 miles. Very little wear and I take my kids to school on daily basis. No regrets in getting this interior.

I have a quartz interior, 6 weeks of use. The CEILING (cloth) is getting dirty fast next to the sun visor where you grasp the edge of the sun visor to rotate it open.

Any ideas on how to clean this?

Now TSX seats are perforated front and back right? Is it easy to clean without getting gunk in the little holes?

Yes. Just put whatever you are using on a cloth and then rub that on the seats, instead of just spraying on the seat directly.
