Quartz Interior?

Im very close to purchasing a new TSX.....

I'm probably going with CG exterior and either quartz or ebony leather

All the pictures Ive seen are mostly ebony, does anyone have quartz that can comment on how they like it. Is it too light? Can someone post a picture?

I'd just like everyones opinion on quartz because there doesnt seem to be too much discussion about it. Thanx

The quartz interior is perfect. It gives the interior a nice, sporty, two-tone appearance. It is not too light and is really very very classy looking. Search for some pics and you'll find plenty of pictures of the quartz interior throughout the forum.

I have quartz and absolutely love it. My next vehicle will probably be a TL (sssh. Don't tell anybody) and I will almost certainly get quartz again. Its dark enough to hide dirt, but not so dark that it shows sand and dust. Also, it doesn't get to hot and I love the look.

I'm very happy with my quartz interior. See if your dealer has an loaners with ebony interior and see how horrible they look over time.

You need to take care of it. I had loaners with tan interior that look pretty bad, but it's just dirty. IMO ebony will look best because it doesn't show the dirt.

It was pretty clean but, the thing I've seen with ebony interiors is that they show all the dust and that's a lot more prevalent in cars than dark dirt

I have a Meteor Silver TSX (no nasty comments - I like it ) with a quartz interior and it has become my favorite. I prefer the plastic metal to the plastic wood (sorry all you plood lovers ), but I much prefer the two-tone look to all black. Also, the charcoal finish on the console clashes a little with the ebony upholstery in my view. Don't be scared of maintenance issues. A little care occassionally with Lexol cleaner and conditioner will keep it looking new.

Thank You for posting those pics.
I ordered a CG/Quartz w/o ever seeing the quartz. I'm picking up my car on Saturday
I used to have a Infinity with black exterior with black leather.
One warning, stay away from Las Vegas during the summer months.
It's unbearable. And you really can cook an egg on the hood.
Luckily I wasn't wearing shorts otherwise I would have grill marks on my thigh.

Beautiful car and soon it will be mine.

My color (ABP) only came w/Ebony, and honestly, having just gotten outta a "grey" interior (Quartz, ok?), I'm thrilled. I had it in the hot NC sun, and it wasn't bad at all, and the black just looks dramatic!

I personally like Ebony better than Quartz. I agree that Quartz got its own killer attraction but it doesn't really suit in the interior as a whole.

One time when this topic came up before, somebody said that ebony looks more sporty and quartz looks more luxurious. I kind of agree with that. This is all personal preference but I think that the ebony looks kind of monochromatic and a little boring. There's just too much black. I prefer the quartz because of the contrast of the black dash and console against the gray with the metallic-looking strip in between. And I think it looks better in person than in most pictures that I've seen.

i think quartz interior would look much better if it was more dominant. i find it kind of weird the steering wheel and dash are still black.

I like ebony better cause quartz just didn't blend with the black dash well enough for me...

The quarts difinitely gives it a more sporty look. But the Ebody gives it the classy luxury feel that seems to blend better with the TSX's overall look.

That's the point. It's supposed to contrast.

I had a Nighthawk Black Pearl RSX-S with Ebony interior for about 2 years. When I started looking at the TSX I was dead set on a black interior with a dark exterior color - either CG or NBP - just my personal preference. I ended up with a CG/Quartz TSX and I really grown to love it even though it was not my 1st choice. The contrast between the black dash, the silver strip, and then the grey is really great. Pictures don't really do it justice, it looks very handsome in person.

i also have the CG/quartz and i think it's a great color combo. the quartz is very classy imo, altho my only minor complaint is that the floor mats show dirt kind of easily. small price to pay for being happy tho.

Acura TSX all season floor mats solve this issue.

I also flip the standard carpets mats upside down in the summer if our feet have lots of dirt on them, saves the mats nicely.

Actually, I'd say the all seasons show dirt and dust a lot more than the stock mats - in the quartz interior. For that reason, I seriously thought about order a gray set of weathertech mats. Nothing shows dirt more clearly than a black background.

I was going to do the Weather-techs, but the Acura mats all seasons were actually cheaper then a full set of Weather-tech mats once I paid for delivery and all that jazz.

Plus you can easily just wash the all season OEs off when you wash the car, they dry very quickly IMO.

I just save the carpeted mats in the trunk for nights out with friends and stuff and use the plastic ones for the rest of the time.

If you get a black interior get ready to see everything, dust, lint, everything. I had black in my VR6 Jetta, thought it looked great with white exterior at first but then.....:-(. Now have an RSX with beige.........:-). By the way........the Meteor Silver with Quartz is what I'm going for hopefully in March.

I have a 2004 TL Anthracite with Ebony. It is absolutely gorgeous, but the black
interior does show the dirt.

We are now picking up a 2005 MSM/Quartz/6speed/Navi TSX for my husband since he
totaled his 2002 RSX-S, Desert mist with parchment. He is not nearly as neat as I
am in the car, so a color with some camoflauge capabilty is important.
