Quartz Interior?
Quartz Interior?
We are currently in the process of ordering a 2005 model TSX but I thought I'd stop in here to ask a quick question.
How does the Quartz interior hold up? Were looking to put this in a CG TSX. Do the sides of the seats tend to blacken from sliding in and out and show more wrinkles? We both prefer the quartz interior to the ebony, but were just worried that over time this lighter colored leather will tend to look pretty bad?
Hopefully a few of you will have some opinions or pictures.
TIA

I've had it for over a year, and have had none of the problems you list. The only thing is the doors (which are also grey) tend to get scuffed if you kick them a lot, but this is something you can avoid if you're careful.
I'll try to take some pics, but it'll be a while before I post them.

Mine's six months old and just fine. One exception, my belt has stained the side bolsters a little bit. Keeping em cleaned and conditioned has avoided wrinkling and dirt. With the exception of the belt stain (a belt I applied some shoe polish to), held up quite well. The mats show dirty slightly more than my previous tan interior.
Only problem is a staffer who drove my cgp/quartz wearing a belt that he had recently polished; the black rubbed off on the leather seatback. I've gotten most of it off, and will turn the rest over to a detailing shop the next time I take it in.
I've purchased rubber mats for winter use, as Philadelphia salts very heavily and I doubt that any carpet will hold up without showing the wear.
I think the cgp and quartz is a great combination, very understated. I avoid black for interiors; gets too hot in the summer and it casts too much of the interior into shadow during dusk and nighttime driving for my taste.

i have satin silver mellic with quartz interior. i will take this color over the blk/eboney interior all day long due to heat in california. the patchment/ivory is ugly with the fake wood interior and dirty shows right away. quartz is the best choice. and it match with carbon gray and light silver, ok with the metor silver too.
my choices was carbon gray, satin silver and metor silver all with quartz interior. all others does not match with interior colors.
achan268888@yahoo.com.. i got in august 2003

I've had the CG/Quartz combo for nearly a year and a half and it is a great combination. I took the regular floormats out and replaced them with a set of winter floormats because of the rains here in the DC metro area. Otherwise, the interior is quite stunning and you'll enjoy it.

I have a 04 SSM with the quartz interior, about 37K miles now. Other than a scratch here and there the interior is holding up great!
Yes the seats do have a few wrinkles but no stains or black marks (wears brown belts and doesn't polisth them). I found the OEM floor mats to be kinda cheap and after only a month was showing wear.
I replaced them with the all season rubber floor mats. They fit and match perfectly.
Use some 303 on the dash, all vinyl and rubber. It's great protection from the sun and drying out. I also put seat belt pads (Acura logo) on the front seat belts to protect myself and the B-pillars. Got them off ebay. All in all I'm very pleased with the looks of the interior, the metal trim vice the cheap looking wood. I think it's more sporty looking.
Good luck with your choice and welcome to AZ!
