Question Purchasing TSX Color Question

Hello Everyone, I am about to purchase a 06 TSX 6spd and can't decide between silver and carbon gray. Opinions? Can someone please post pictures of both?

I would really appreciate any input and or suggestions.

Thanks!

p.s., I test drove it last night and it's silky and smoooooth. Love it.

I was debating between the same two. I went with the Alabaster Silver because the I felt the Carbon Grey 1) would show dirt a lot more and 2) might not age as well (meaning I think it's more of a trendy color).

And I'd go Silver

For some reason, the gray looks darker than other grays, almost too dark. I wish they had the metallic gray the TL has as an option for the TSX...decisions, decisions...

After looking at a TON of pictures, I think I'm leaning more towards PWP . . . I don't want to get a color to just be different, there aren't that many TSX's on the road in the Chicago area. I just think that color suits the car VERY well and works with the body lines nicely.

IMO, the PWP is definently the nicest color for the TSX. Followed closely by Milano Red.

Got the CGP as my other car is silver and I didn't want two the same color. I used to have a black accord coupe and that would really show the dirt, but the CGP is a nice mix between silver and black. In the right light it almost looks like a deep metallic blue. I love it, great color. Get the CGP as you see lots of silver TSX's.

Thanks for the post. The thing is, I don't want any other hues except for gray, that's why I like the TL gray. The PWP looks creamy white and that really looks nice on the TSX for some reason. Still can't make up my mind. Can anyone post a pic of an 06 PWP TSX w/ ebony interior?

Thank you everyone for all your assistance.

PWP is sporty but doesn't age as well..it yellows within 1 years time.
Silver is great, don't have to wash it as often and won't see dents but a dime a dozen.
Black is awesome, cept it's very high maintenence on the paint.
Grey is great, I have it but still high maintenence due to darker color. More of a luxury kind of color then sporty.
Blue is Great too, very RARE. Nothing bad to say about blue. Semi high maint due to darker color.
Red would have been my first choice cept they only made it for the 04 year in Canada. Very RARE again.

I highly doubt the paint would "yellow," especially within 1 year. This is a HONDA paint job. Is this really true?

I agree, PWP is really sporty, but also I think its quite upscale as well. IMO, the "yellowing" isn't "yellowing" per-se... it just looks creamier. In most lighting conditions, it REALLY stands out and screams "not your typical boring white car". At night, it looks unbelievable.

From all the PWP's I've seen so for, no. But it probly will eventually yellow over several years time.

And considering the PWP is already pearly and not really white, I think its less of a problem.

I wouldn't be surprised. I know of someone who had a white Infiniti and even though the car still looked white, he had to have the rear bumper replaced after a collision and you could definitely tell the difference between the 'old white' and the new bumper white.

I have my PWP 20 mths now and not "yellowish" at all. The problem of PWP is once you have accident or whatever you need to repaint part of the car, it will be a nightmare to match the color.

Thats their point. The paint fades or yellows over time.

But paint matching will really be a problem with any color besides maybe Silver wouldn't it.

A good paint shop will be able to add a touch of tint to the paint to get it right. Sure it might cost a bit more, but the color is really worth it IMO.

And, to anyone looking at the PWP as yellowing, you won't notice it on your car, because everything is "yellowing" at the same (slow) rate anyhow.

I was right there with you on that decision. I opted against silver one day when I was at a red light and every other car around me was silver - from a Mercedes right down to a Cavalier.

I've always liked the way black looks on a car - when it's clean, it's very very elegant. But it's SO hard to keep it clean.

That made CGP a great choice for me. It's dark enough to look elegant like the black (but much easier to keep clean), and it sticks out from the sea of silver cars.

I also wondered about the "trendiness" of CGP, but in the end, I decided that I really like it. I don't think that CGP is going to be the next Teal. CGP is classy and here to stay.

Friend of mine has a 2004 PWP TSX. He bought a kit recently and put it on and the white did not match. The car body was more yellow then the kit.

He ended up buffing the car and then it matched.

Sil;ver has it's fair share of problems. I had a silver C36 that had over half the car repainted at different times. Thing with silver is not color change per say, it'e the grey scale.

Same happened to me. I bought the car used, but had the dealer put on the OEM kit as condition of the sale. The kit didn't match overly well, but I clayed and used paint cleaner (step 1 Mothers) and it matches relatively well now. In 1 years' time I bet it'll match 100%.

My opinion...it depends where you live and how often you are able to clean your car. The CGP is my favorite color on the TSX when clean, but I'm in NY and my car is pretty tough to keep clean half the year (I had a "Dolphin Grey" A4 before the TSX and it looked great when I could maintain it, but incredibly dull in the Winter).

Long story short, I went for the Satin Silver in the TSX and I like it (I think it always looks decent, whereas the CGP either looks either awesome or dull to me). If I lived in San Diego, CGP all the way!

Should've made this a poll. Although i do agree with you though, it's a tough choice because both look really sharp.

I like carbon grey slightly better out of the two, but I like premium white pearl the most.

So I have eliminated silver from my list. Now, it's between CGP and PWP. Still waiting on pics of an 06 PWP w/ebony interior.

Of the two, my vote is for PWP. There just seem to be SOOOO many CGP around, and the Acura white looks SOOO classy, almost like the Cadillac Escalade white.

It's black..there is no CG in that picture. I think that's JeffTSX's car.

Depending on where you live, one color will be more popular then another.

That picture was taken in Toronto. White is the most popular color here hence why I got carbon grey. CG is also rarer in Canada because it was a new color for 2005. No CG in 2004. (BTW we call it graphite pearl instead of CG). Obviosuly the blue and red and the purple color is the rarest.

My brother has the CGP while I have a PWP...I love my color but at times I like his color, expecially if its washed. I think thats a choice that you should make on your own personally. But if I had to choose I would go with PWP still, only I would try at getting the interior black instead of the tan, its really hard to keep cleaning when my kids ride in it.

Hey Tmetcalf:

I noticed you purchased (leased?) your TSX from Weir Canyon Acura in Yorba Linda. I also leased my '06 TSX from them. I live in the 92808 area of Anaheim Hills (in Viewpoint). I think I might have seen you in the area.
