Pump/extractor for oil change

Anyone use pumps/extractors to do an oil change (sucks the oil through the dipstick hole I believe)? Pros/cons? What is a good brand/product? You do not need to replace the crush washer, correct? I'd like to hear your experiences from those who go this route vs. jacking up the car. Thanks in advance!

I'm not a fan of those oil extractor methods. I would rather let dirty oil and whatever contaminants sink to the bottom and drain out. You would still need to jack up the car for the oil filter anyway. well, I guess you could try from the top or through the right wheel.

I'm with you on this. Why not let gravity do its thing and pull the contaminants to the bottom, where the drain plug is? Makes more sense than pulling the oil UP, leaving the crap at the bottom of the pan to contaminate the new oil.

You still need to get under the car to change the filter, so you might as well drain while you're there...
