Hi All,

This may be an eye-rolling question but I can't find how to program my car to recognize voice commands. I've got a 2006 TSX non-Navi and a Blackberry Storm. I can tell it telephone numbers (the ones I remember) but when I say "name" and I give it a name from the address book, it will say back 3 or 4 unrelated numbers and ask if I want to dial or add more numbers. Anyone know how to get it to recognize my contact list by voice?

My outlook linked BB Storm has a couple hundred names in it. If I want to call Joe Smith, how do I tell the car what to do? Thanks, sh

 

Not sure if this is what's going on with your particular phone, but my car was not able to access my phone's address book...hence, I had to verbally tell it each name and number in the set-up mode. Took a little time, but it works great now. Now I just say call "Steve" and it does.

TSX doesn't support phone book import. You have to program numbers with voice tags to be able to voice dial by name. Instructions are in the owners manual.

 

That's what I thought I recalled, but did not want to state unequivocally that it did support it...thanks for the confirmation.

The voice command does work well when it is set up however.
