Price Question

I'm going to be selling my '06 TSX soon and I'm thinking of asking $15,000 for it. I'm the second owner. I got it the day after Thanksgiving 2008 with 36,000 miles on it. It's got 103,000 highway miles on it now. The fluids were changed imediately after I got it for peace of mind. I have copies of all of my UOAs, which were done at every change by Blackstone Labs who consistantly suggested longer change intervals. Oil was changed about every 5,000 miles since that's an easy number to remember. It's had a few upgrades since I got it. It's got a Comptech short shifter, an elite hood damper kit from redlinetuning.com, rigid cable bushings, UR lightweight underdriven pulleys (which I love), a weighted Type R shift knob, Optima Redtop 75/35 battery (brand new), RacingBrake UP sloted rotors and ET300 pads on all 4 corners, and Enkei Racing RP01 wheels with Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires (put on at 100,000 so barely even broken in yet). I had the old tires mounted on the original wheels, so I guess I'd throw those in too. Don't really know what else to do with them.

It has been damaged. It was hit in a parking lot which damaged the outer skin of the driver's side doors. Both windows still rolled up and down and nothing was damaged internally. Recently someone hit me on the interstate which dented the trunklid and somehow poped a hole in the bumper. There was no damage beyond that. Both were fixed and you can't tell anything happened to it.

There are some rock chips in the hood and bumper, and broken factory fogs. I replaced them once already, but they didn't last long so didn't re-replace them. There's also some minor wrinkles on the driver's seat, but nothing you wouldn't expect on a used vehicle. There's some wear on the driver's floormat, which should be expected after 100,000 miles.

Do you think 15 is a fair price, or am I crazy? Ok, I already know I'm crazy, but is that fair price?

You can always try-remember you can always go down in price not up. I also own a 06 tsx but it has never been in an accident, 100% stock, with almost 110,000 miles. I am planning to either trade it or sell it for a new car in June 2011. A few months ago I almost traded it for a 2010 Subaru Legacy Premium 6MT. They offered $12,500 for my tsx with 95,000 miles then. The foglights have rockblocker on them, the hood has lots of rock chips. The interior and mats are still in like new condition.

Try to get a price quote from edmunds.com base on the current condition and mileage. Keep in mind mods don't usually add any value to the base price.

I think you're crazy, but..... it doesn't hurt to try. And..... let me tell you why I think that. I tried to sell my 05 last year with the same mileage you have now (so should be a fairly comparable deal). I was asking I think $12K. I didn't get one call. Granted I didn't try that hard; I was more or less testing the waters, but I was pretty discouraged. I think the mileage is a real killer (anything approaching or over 100K)(though it shouldn't be; I'm at 126K now and the car is still like new). Mine is basically stock (brakes, some suspension work, window tint, that's pretty much all), never been hit, and was (and still is) for the most part perfect. I think all the non-stock stuff will hurt your chances more than help. Unless you happen to attract someone who wants all that stuff, those looking will be leery of most anything that isn't OE (I would be and I now what everything is and what it does; most people don't). Another problem is that you'll be competing against other cars with most likely less mileage (maybe allot less), perhaps never been hit, and are all stock. So..... that's my take on it. Good luck.

I think you are asking too much. I have an '06 with 70 K miles and the car is in showroom condition. Kelly Bluebook tells me mine is worth about $15,000. So I would guess that you could as around $11,500 or so. Yours has more mileage and a couple of incidents already. That is what I would expect to get. You can ask 15k, but be prepared to go much lower.

yep, 15 is a bit high, espcially considering the accident. you might want to sell the enkie wheels separately to make a few extra bucks. just go to kbb and get a price, minus about 1500 for the accident.

I bought a 06 6mt non navi all original paint w 75k on it for 12900, my bro was the sales manager & i paid 300 over their cost... they had it for sale @ 15800ish when i say immaculate i mean IMMACULATE, so 15k might work as a asking price but i doubt youll get it Im thinking closer to 10-12k... good luck

I think the price is way too high. At that number I don't believe you will get the attention you want the car to get. Lowering the price will ease the sale through. I just sold my 06, 79000 miles, 1 minor accident with a supercharger and mugen exhaust on it for LESS than where you are thinking of starting. It was in great condition and I wish the next owner luck. Could I held out for more; probably but I wanted to do the deal, not try and squeeze a few hundred or even a thousand dollars out of the next guy. Because I was reasonable with my price the first guy that saw it took it that night. I know it's your car and you love it (just like I did mine) but I think you have to be more realistic with the number you want for the car otherwise you won't be able to sell it. Just my 2 cents. Don't mean to sound harsh in any way. Good luck.
