Potential front bumper modifications

Has anyone considered removing the cheesy black plastic pieces from the front bumper and replacing them with a simple mesh, like that on the Mugen grill? I think that this, along with a grill kit, would make the front end much cleaner, particularly if the mesh were painted the same color as the body.

Also, has anyone moved the front license plate? The front of the TSX is angular, coming to a focal point at the very front of the car. This is exactly the area obscured by the front license plate. This really ruins the design, in my opinion. I am thinking about moving the plate to the air dam, where the foglight would be if I had foglights, such as on the mitsu evo:

Why not just not put the front plate on? Does your state require the front plate? Calif. requires to have the front plate on, but I've never put it on any of my previous and current cars.

my front plate bracket was off about 45 minutes after I drove off the lot 6 months, one stop(no ticket!) and I still haven't had any problems.

First make sure there are no holes in your bumper from the front plate being there. They may have drilled into the plastic.

in the states at least acura uses brackets which clip onto a metal piece under the bumper...no holes. Just a 10mm socket to loosen them up

I could have sworn that I read somewhere in this forum that someone had removed the front plate to find to holes from the plate in the bumper

But your right for the most part, its a bracket that holds the plate, thats how my car is as well.

I would just take the plate off, but if I'm driving home after happy hour or something, I really don't want to give the police any reason to pull me over. (Front plate required in my state).

No, no holes in bumper after removing license plate.

I like the mesh in the euro r grill, but I don't want the huge chrome "H". I'm going for a cleaner look.

The dealers in my area drill into the bumper for the front plate, to add more stability. I took mine off, thankfully the hole was small and I have a black car.

I keep the plate on the bracket in the car with me just in case I get stopped

I want a 4 piece black mesh grill kit so bad! Aaaah! I can just see how sweet the front would look with a simple mesh setup in the main grill, lower grill, and the fog light holes.
