Other OEM Spoiler Owners!! Spoiler spings, did my dealer put them in?

Hey Guys, how do I know if my dealer replaced the normal springs for the stronger ones that are suppose to be used with the spoiler installed to compensate for the added weight. The Trunk definately stays up but only if I push it up all the way for kind push it up for give it momentum. Is this suppose to be normal?

If the trunk lid didn't slam shut by it's own weight when you close it, then you have the required heavier springs.

I didn't even know the springs were replaced until I saw the installation instructions for the spoiler a few months after I got my car

My springs had an extra tag on each one that the dealer left on, which were the heavier springs. Easy way to tell, if you hit the trunk button on the remote does the trunk lid pop up about 2-3 inches? If not they did not put them on.

Well my trunk does close by itself when i let it drop but it doesn't slam really. WHen I press the button to open the trunk, it opens but doesn't go up 2-3 inches by itself. Should I bring it back to the dealer?

Its a pain to get my trunk to close, when i open it with the button it opens about 3-4 inches and all i have to do tap the bottom and it opens all the way, and if I don't close it hard it won't close and opens back up all the way.

How long has the spoiler been on? My Accord started out w/ no spoiler...I had the dealer install one a month or two down the road. I got the new springs but it never really popped like it did when with out a spoiler. And over time the springs will settle after 5years it pops even less now, maybe a 1/2" when you unlock it. It the trunk stays open and the lid won't fall down--you likely have the needed springs.

I haven't yet decided if I will spoiler the new TSX, I miss how easy it was to water blade the Accord dry before the spoiler.

Well, I went to the dealer today, and they said there weren't sure if the reinforced springs are in it or not, but there ordering theled reinforced ones and I'm having it installed 17th of Jan. I'm guessing they know they didn't put them on, and rather then saying that they forgot are just going to order the springs and put them in. Either way is fine with me as long as I get em.
