Opinions on XXR rims on TSX's

I have an 04 TSX, stock right now and would like to give it a little something. Thinking about starting with the rims. Let me know what you guys recommend doing and what rims make the car look best. Not looking to track the car, just a fun daily driver. Right now my favorite looking rims are the XXR's. Let me know what you all think.

I personally like the XXR 527s, as I have similar looking wheels on my car and think they are just aggressive enough to look good.

However, I also thought like you and did wheels first. If you're going for styling, I would advise getting a drop then wheels - it will look 10x better. But just my 2 cents!

Drop before wheels. That's always my opinion. As for XXR's, they're cheap. But they're good and reliable.

I'm new so I'm not sure how to put both of your responses in my message but Manae, do you have a pictures of what your car looks like with the 527's? And Andrewcjduong I've also heard that they are cheap wheels but I'm not really looking for any lightweight street wheels. I don't have the budget for them. If anyone has some used ones I would be interested though. I've actually only been in one car that was dropped but it was because the springs were cut. What are your guys opinions on the ride affect after coil overs?

Xxr's are cheap... that's all I'll say about this.

and drop the car before you do aftermarket wheels.... otherwise you'll look like a jacked up car on decent wheels... so you'll look awkward.

How much harsher is the ride with it being lowered an inch or two? and what is better, springs or full coil overs? for a smoother ride?

A few things you need to consider is your coilovers. What kind are you getting and how stiff do you want them to be. Read reviews on them and have people recommend you some. Also consider the spring rate in the coilovers and if you want adjustable ones along with how much you're willing to shell out.

I personally am a big fan of BC BR Coilovers. They're fully adjustable in dampening and they can be slammed if that's what you want. Another brand I would recommend is Tein SS. They can be adjusted to ride at almost stock comfort and they're pretty good. I've also always been in a car with stiff suspension so I don't mind anything.

You also need to consider your rim and tire size. Those two factor in to how rough your ride will be. The thinner the sidewalls, the less rebound and more stiffer your ride will be. Again. I'm saying XXR's are cheap because you can find them for around $500. Cheap doesn't mean bad. They're great wheels and reliable. Good for everyday use and you don't need light wheels. I have $3k Work VS-XX and those aren't light at all. I'm a big fan of XXR wheels so I vouch for them. They also have amazing fitment.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm not wanting to slam it. Just want to drop it an inch or two and do it with the most comfort in mind. I don't want to stretch my tires or have my rims tucked and leaning. Im in ohio where the roads won't allow that and that look just isn't for me. And coilovers that would feel closest to stick would be what I want.

I would just save little more and get used legit wheels. search craigslist or ebay.
There are plenty of them and usually it would turn out about the same price if you were planning on getting a new xxrs

What are the best rims to get? I know about the Volks but what other rims are lightweight and high quality in your opinion?

lol ya'll are silly.
its an almost 10 year old car.
not even a fancy car at that.

XXR wheels are fine and copies the more popular styles on the market.
if you dont have 2-3k to spend on wheels and tires and alignments, go for the XXR's
